I know of 6 Brompton owners who ‘quickly’ locked their bike outside while they went shopping/dining/etc

I’m one of those people. New Brompton, less than 24hrs old. Locked it outside and popped into the shops for a couple of mins in Putney. Was gone when I came back. Passers by said somebody just walked up to it, cut the cable lock and rode off in a minute. Fuckers.

I do. It’s lovely. I upgraded from an LG 24” Ultrafine for mac screen. The camera is really good, particularly the tracking / following function, sound is great. We also use it to watch films, as a second TV.

If you're not too ham-fisted

Back in lockdown, I had a MacBook Pro which I got the iPad Pro to use as a second screen. It worked for a day and then stopped. The MacBook Pro had spinny wheel and loud fans so I thought I’d order a kit and see if what was inside was causing a problem. It was full of fluff. Stupidly, I put the smallest attachment on the vacuum cleaner to get everything out. It never turned on again. Fucking static.

I got a 2020 iPad Pro from work with the keyboard and the pencil. It mostly just functioned as a second screen with Sidecar which was incredibly helpful at the time. It was then rarely used. Slowly it became my primary home device for the last couple of years for web browsing, emails and basic office stuff. Still don’t know what to do with the Pencil?

The MacBook Pro I bought at the same time now has half its battery life, fans whizzing constantly and it has a meltdown with Teams. The iPad Pro is still has long battery life and is pretty snappy in comparison.

Does anyone happen to have a front bag for a Brompton they want to sell by any chance?

Where’s good to get 16” tubes for a Brompton from? Haven’t bought one for years and just burnt through a couple in the same amount of days. Are the Halfords ones any good for £4? They seem to be the cheapest.

Does anybody use the Apple AirTags on their bikes? Police asked if I had any sort of tracking device.

Alas, my Kinesis Racelight Granfondo Ti Disc was stolen on Monday 29th January 2024 from inside the apartment block in Barking. It’s all on CCTV camera, currently waiting for the Police to decide if they’re going to investigate or not. The person who stole my bike rode to my apartment block on a shitty mountain bike which they left behind and rode off on my bike. It was crashed, thus the chain was off, tires needed pumping and shifters were a bit knackered.

Size: 54cm with Campagnolo 10speed Record Groupset, Hunt Aerolight Wheelset, Titanium seatpost, Selle Italia SMP Dynamic saddle, Deda Presica Carbon Handlebars and Shimano SPD Pedals.
