haha Oliver I was just trying to be accommodating / helpful! She (/I because I am now a manager there) will sell to all and sundry. Come by soon!
VX in kings cross stocks that cheese. It is AMAZING.
Yeah see you there Jamie and Shelby! Maybe message me your number or we can arrange to meet there at a certain time? I'm planning on going to lock 7 for brunch waffles before if you wanna join and we can cycle to brecknock together? Plans, I has dem

you can definitely get it from VX - http://www.vegancross.com/product_p/vwg500.htm
also the vegan store - http://www.veganstore.co.uk/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=1&Product_Code=056&Category_Code=#.UnodkrvHP-I
and i think Longdan (the oriental supermarket chain (is it a chain if it's two stores?) in Dalston and Elephant) also definitely do it.
i'd tentatively suggest whole foods and holland & barrett too but don't quote me on that...

A rare weekend in the UK led me to check out a couple of 'new-ish' vegan places
Lock 7 bike cafe on Broadway Market are now doing 100% vegan waffles at the weekends. Sweet and savoury toppings, and all £3-4. I had a savoury one and it was delicious. More info and menu here http://veganphotographersproject.tumblr.com/
cycled past lock 7 twice a day for a year and a half and never knew this! lame. if you're a broadway regular you probably already know about the veggie table (burgers and salad), the crepe dude, and happy kitchen vegan bakery stalls... i don't work for HK any more though so i can't guarantee the standard of the cakes!
Best vegan recipe books
i'd also endorse the stalwart veganomicon for its sheer volume and reliability. if you're based south, ms cupcake in brixton has a good little range of vegan cook books. also a lot of other cool vegan snacks.
Vegusto is nice, but pricy. :)
vegusto IS nice, but have you tried this?
it absolutely blew my mind. best vegan cheese imo.i'll be heading to that brecknock road vegan food thing if anyone else is?

My GF doesn't really like fake meat (except quorn in fajitas/similar).
I was sort of after something a bit more beef stew or ham and slip peas. I'm having a search for Italian peasant dishes as that seems like a good route.
have you tried making seitan? probably already been discussed further back in this or the other vegan thread on here but it's (imo) the best fake meat and coincidentally much cheaper than shop-bought things. i'd recommend this recipe --> http://www.theppk.com/2009/11/homemade-seitan/ once you've followed the recipe for the first time it becomes second nature and is super easy to make again. you can make it into steaks, burgers, "ribs", whatever. (we made "cheese"-stuffed burgers a few weeks ago)

i've still not tried the coach and horses. is it any good?
kim who runs german supercompany Vegan Wonderland (though i think she's been a bit discredited recently due to dubitable personal relations) has opened a vegan coffee shop in camden on pratt street. has anyone been? despite one of my jobs involving a lot of vegan cake i'm actually not that keen on eating it any more...!

frame and forks, including gxp external bottom bracket, can also throw in the headset which i have lying around somewhere.
57cm, fairly good condition excusing a few light patches of surface rust and two dents in the seat tube from accidental over-clamping. i've spoken to a mechanic about it and it doesn't affect the structural integrity of the frame at all, it just looks a bit battered.
£100 in south london

the camera on my phone is terrible but tonight i made this:
vegan tarte tatin (with additional Snuffkin pastry topper because i read this article and it made me smile) -
i'll probably be at that bossk/DIS show. the new bossk is so different to I/II/III and the rinoa split though, i'm still undecided about how much i dig it. i preferred it when they weren't trying to sound like early architects. i really wish they had kept vocals to a minimum, i just think it sounds a lot better

i went to amico bio this week too!! i had the gnocchi and rice milk mozzarella it was OUTSTANDING. who would have thought rice could make something so incredible/not rice-like?!
also is this sunday still on? it seems to have crept up a bit. i can do 26th or 2nd / any date really. happy to have a meandering route too.

^^ jamie what style of wolf? most of the people i've been tattooed by have cracked out a few wolves but they're all fairly similar neo-trad...

ah yeah, okay that makes sense. the chainguard was (is, until i sort it out, which i'm leaving til last) dented, so i took it off to properly inspect it when i dismantled the whole bike. i could happily change the chain with just the circular plate and axle segment. that makes me feel better about it. thanks!
also for the benefit of whomever asked, i've been able to mount the rear caliper brake straight onto the frame, where the rear mudguard attaches:
i'll probably just keep the rear brake and not drill the frame to mount a front brake, it's not going to be ridden hard or far, i don't think.
betty, your bike is BEAUTIFUL. what an absolute joy, thanks for the link! the pinstriping and detail on the frame is probably the best i've ever seen and i'll doubtless use it when i finish this bike off. thank you for sharing it, and the tip about aluminium foil!
whilst luglining i decided to make a feature of the serial number. it needs another going-over but:
