It's back again: http://www.gumtree.com/p/for-sale/cinelli-fixed-gear-single-speed-track-velodrome-bike-2012/1019250727
Ha, it's been pulled by Gumtree, my mate has been sent this message from Gumtree advising him to be careful...Took them long enough as he contacted Gumtree almost 2 weeks ago

From the Glasgow forum & polo forum, all spotted the bike on gumtree and thought it was a little too cheap, AFAIK no one has bought it, but will keep an eye out. Anyone actually reported it missing though?
My mate reported it to the police and was told to report it to Gumtree. Fat lot of good that did as it is still listed and Gumtree have done sweet F.A. about it

I've been advised to post this up in the Stolen Thread and although I cannot prove it is a stolen bike I just want buyers to be aware...
The bike in question is this Cinelli Vigorelli which is being advertised in Glasgow and Edinburgh
This is what I know about the bike...
My mate went to see it with a view to buying. He emailed the seller through Gumtree who replied but without revealing his/her name. Mate was then instructed to meet 'the girlfriend' in the centre of Glasgow, (again no contact details) when he saw the bike he was already suspicious so flipped it over to check the serial number, the bottom bracket is barrel shaped where someone has rather crudely filed off the number and put a splosh of white paint.
When asked about the serial number girlfriend said she knew nothing, said 'the boyfriend' bought it in Kent a few months earlier and boyfriend worked in the 'legal trade' and would never buy anything dodgy. Mate walked away rather gutted but glad he never bought a dodgy bike.
Boyfriend pulled the advert but it has now reappeared...
Unknown to me another mate emailed when it came up for sale again and the 'boyfriend used exactly the same spiel of meet the girlfriend in city centre. He emailed back saying he would rather deal with him in person and was told the boyfriend was working away and would get back in touch when he came home, he's heard nothing since. Now that he knows the true story he won't be wasting his time viewing
Caveat Emptor...
