Either you're a streetwise fixie skidder, year round cyclist, never wear fluoro and keep your upper body in Wiggins like stasis while pedalling, or you're a nodder, dressed head to toe in reflective day glo altura, head wobbling with every pedal stroke, at least for the two weeks of sunshine every July. After that they all go back to driving to work. There is no middle ground.

Other night, going up Camden high street. Stop at junction between Parkway and Camden road behind a Peugeot that looks like it hasn't passed MOT in a decade. Lights go green, guy just turns left up Parkway. Inception moment where everyone and everything stops to watch. About 3 cars behind me just blare their horns at once in a moment of magic. Guy doesn't give two shits and just carries on, till an HGV comes bearing down on him, he casually swerves, drives up on pavement and continues driving around.
I go home and sleep.
Were there not cars waiting at the Parkway lights? Or just your usual camden tourists milling around the shops? Would have loved to have seen it.

Is it okay to use this thread for pleasant stories? Since moving to Shepherd's bush, I no longer have to struggle up to Whitestone pond before working through the school run tractors in Hampstead.
Instead now I roll down through Hyde Park, past the Albert Hall, the Mall, Birdcage walk and then across by Big Ben. Especially with the Hyde Park corner cut through and actual good weather, I haven't enjoyed riding to work this much since I had to cycle around Thames Valley.
