What are the fastest 10/25/50 courses near London? With Mrs Ratty due with our first fairly soon I'm massively time poor so will be having an early season to hunt some PBs and won't be able to travel great distances. I've had a look at the CTT map of courses, but not really sure what the best options are. Any help massively appreciated!

Hey man, great thread! I bought an old TT frame a while back which came with a fair few bits I've no need for. I can let you have them for super cheapz if you need. I've got a Pro Synop cockpit (with a couple of different extension options), Sram TT500 levers (red) and 10spd TT shifters (although looks like you have these covered). Need to have a dig, but pretty sure I'll have 10 spd ultegra front and rear mechs and a Sram Apex chainset (53/39). I'll have a look properly tonight at the parts bin, but give me a shout if any of that sounds useful. Oh I've also got a virtually brand new ISM Adamo saddle (think it's the road version) which Mrs Ratty bought but instantly disliked!

Mrs Ratty presented me with a bit of a tricky one at the weekend. She races on a Cervelo S5 and has a Croix de Fer as her winter trainer/commuter/pub bike. Given she is pregnant and due in July, she wants to get rid of the current bikes and get one do it all model. She wants it to be:
- able to take a baby seat on the back (so rack mounts useful/clearance for big tyres)
- reasonably light and fast for when she wants to get back into training
- compatible with our Wahoo Kickr for when she feels like getting back on that.
I think discs would be good (given doesn't need to be race legal and the need for big tyres) but the Kickr apparently hits problems with rotors smaller than 160mm.
Was thinking Genesis Datum, but the thru-axel would potentially be a pain on the Kickr, so standard QR might be best. Any ideas v welcome as I'm coming up a bit short! Thanks!

Hey dudes, total spam but just having a clear out and about to bang 158 CDs on ebay and thought I'd check if anyone here wanted them first. Mix of death/thrash/black and a splash of punk. Probs looking for £150. Mostly in great condition with some awesome special editions (like Slayer's 3CD, 1DVD Soundtrack to the Apocalypse). Give me a PM this week if you are interested and can fire the full list over.

I often see @timbre on my morning commute around Bishopsgate (although we've yet to coordinate a decent DAS) - bars are so wide you always make me think of this!

I'm no tax lawyer, but I think generally you can't include criminal misconduct fines in your calculation of any losses for corporation tax purposes. Amounts have to be "wholly laid out or expended for the purposes of the trade or profession" or "connected with or arising out of the trade or profession" to constitute losses. Fines for regulatory breaches are generally not considered to fall within these parameters and would be considered contrary to public policy. That said I have seen a few civil tribunal decisions that seem to have muddied the water (I think McClaren F1 got away with offsetting nearly £32mil resulting from fines). Even if you can't include fines as losses, I've no idea if you can include compensation you are ordered to pay out to individuals as a result of your misconduct. Regardless this is a practice that has been enshrined in law since before 1960, so carrying forward losses is nothing new or surprising despite the headlines. The bit that grates is where (like DB) the bank reports losses in the UK but huge profits in Lux.
