I think you become more socially conservative to a degree, but at 42 I'm as 'left-wing' (read Socially Democratic) as I ever was.
Ultimately, it's a choice. There's a Stewart Lee sketch, which I've been unable to find on Youtube, where he says that when he didn't have any money he was happy to have people pay their fair share in tax, but now he's earning a decent amount he feels that he should be able to keep everything he earns, because, "it's all mine." He's basically laying into the sort of people you're working with.
Or put it this way: you don't get more right-wing as you get older, you get more selfish. Also, Liberalism isn't inherently a left-wing thing by any means. Conservatives are economically liberal, if not socially.

They said that that was a period "long before they bought over the company".
What did they mean by this? Given that Maurizio Fondriest retired in 1998, I had theorised that up until that point the Fondriest operation involved re-branding bikes made elsewhere (by whom?). I ride a steel Fondriest and was told by Fondriest Bici that it dates back to 1994 (which is consistent with its 8 speed group-set). If you can elaborate further it would be appreciated.

Too bleedin right it is!
More to the point, the deeper problem is that under UK law there'll be nothing stopping Mr Vulpine from starting up a new business under a different name. In much of Europe he'd be forbidden from doing so for the next 5 or so years - he would be 'black listed'.
This is what a lot of business owners do - take out massive loans, pay themselves a huge salary, run their business into the ground, fuck off with the remaining assets and the company order book, and start all over again.
[I am not saying that this is what Mr Vulpine has done. I have no opinion on what Mr Vulpine has done. The only complaint I had against Mr Vulpine is that he appeared to fancy himself a bit.]

Not quite the same: Millar doped to win; Higgins gave the impression that he would be prepared to throw a match in an obscure tournament for a bit of money.
Regardless of whether he intended to go through with it or not, his actions weren't going to deprive others of victory. Not that I particularly care for him, but for a while he was the best snooker player in the world, so probably deserves a little bit more respect.
Now, if anyone wants to have a moan about that twerp Trump, then I'd be well up for that.
Shaun Murphy too.

Those cider guys aren't 'blacking up' in a racial sense. I haven't said for a moment that blacking up in a racial sense is on. I've said that the manner in which these people have made their faces black is very different to blacking up as we tend to know it. Therefore it cannot be thought about in the same way. I feel this is a fairly straightforward and logical observation to make. A little objectivity please...

Are you Peter Hitchens?
Liberal in that they believe in minimal state interference, privatisation and toothless regulation.
But yeah, these things would be viewed very differently from country to country.
