Apologies if people have already read about this, but there was somebody on here a while back in the same situation as this this, and they recommended getting the Transport Police involved. Basically, the regular 5-O weren't interested when it was explained to them that he'd tracked down his stolen bike and how he intended on getting it back. So he arranged to meet his 'seller' at a tube station, tipped off the staff as to what was going on, and they helped him mount his 'sting'.
Good luck.

How is a 17.5 cm head-tube inconsistent with a 59.5 cm seat-tube? I once measured a bike with a 60 cm seat-tube that had a 17cm head-tube.
That said, the bike in question had a 57.5cm top-tube c-c, but it was a bike of standard proportion. What I'm thinking is that the 54cm measurement of the top-tube isn't measured c-c: it's the measurement between the head-tube and the seat-post (the picture suggests as much). Ergo, the top-tube could measure 56cm c-c, which would make perfect sense.

27 1/4 wheels don't make a hell of a lot of difference. And I don't see why everybody is struggling to get a grip with the size: it's 57cm, and if that doesn't give you any indication then do a little reserach. With the shortness of that stem, I reckon we're talking somewhere between 5 foot 9 and just over six foot.

Shimano600 hubs with a Campag group..?
I might be wrong, but I don't see how the hubs are going to interfere with the group? I've Campagnolo Record hubs on my bike with a Shimano 105 group. I didn't fit this, but I've hot had any issues.
If the rear casette has been designed with a specific group in mind, then that's different, but we're talking hubs. -
Broadly speaking, I'd agree with you but the pictures of the bike show rust on the frame and wear on the chainrings (such as can be seen). The description includes the word perfect several times. Incongruous.
Rust? You can see rust? Really?
The front chainring and chain-stays look a bit grubby, but otherwise the frame looks almost immaculate.
£175 - and that's because it looks to be in pretty decent shape.
(I'm in no way an expert on such things, though.)
