So, I've got myself the frame and forks (see attached) and nowt else. Want to do it up nicely but shamefully don't know where to start. Should probably post this in Current Projects but trust you Brighton types more...
Things that may help:
• Looking to keep it low-key and classy (brown leather seat/grips, quill stem, flat handlebars, sticker-free rims etc)
• Will be riding fixed with front brake
• Expect to use it mostly for commuting but will also hopefully get out for a few longer rides. Have a good hill on my ride home (Bear Road) but was riding 48/16 previously and getting on okay(!) with the hill
• Budgeting ~£200 (will probably repaint it later on top)
• 120mm wide dropouts
• Bottom bracket BST-threadedHappy to spend countless hours trawling LFGSS for parts but not entirely sure what I'm looking for and don't wanna get ripped off.
So, suggestions?

@diceface Tried to make it down to PP Sunday* but forgot I'd left my bike at work. Is it a regular thing?
- Had no intention whatsoever of playing but keen to watch a game and chat with locals.

Cheers Mark. The chain's definitely too tight atm then. Will fix that up. And pretty sure I'm gonna go with the Restraps - they just feel like they'll hold me in well.
Lesson learnt this morning: Bear Road is not a road to learn to ride fixed. I'd figured this already but know it real good now. Reckon it was amusing for bystanders but scared the hell out of me...

Morning all. So... flipped my back wheel yesterday so now officially riding fixed. Happy bunny. !!
Riding a second-hand Subway Zero (don't judge me) but after being on it a couple weeks am really enjoying riding SS/FG. Will probably play around with it a bit (cut down handlebars, get some clips, learn how to actually ride one of these things) but can already see I'm gonna want a new bike before the year's out.
Without rambling, just wondering if people still meet in a local pub - even after the hours spent lurking on various forums, still have a shedload of questions.
Couple to start off with:
How do I know if my chain's too tight? After flipping the back wheel it feels tighter than I remember it (and I had to adjust the brakes). How much slack (if any) should there be?
Horizontal/Diagonal Restraps? Any experience? Got nothing on the pedals atm but desperately want something. Just don't think clips and straps are work for my skinny ass feet.
Anybody know if Cranks have a pipecutter? Hacksawed down the handlebars a little (to 50cm - the Zero handlebars were massive). Wanna go down a bit more (46cm?) but want a cleaner cut.
Cheers for any help,
Rob
Arse. Would be really keen for this but in NY for a conference that w/e. Sad panda.
