Haha thanks for that one!
I’ve only just seen the news about the forum closing and your meme about sleep and unfulfilling work made me lol
Not sure I’ve ever posted in this thread but feel compelled to tell you that I lurk here every day and your tunes are almost exclusively what I listen to when driving to work. I also force my 6 and 10 year old kids to listen to the gabber in the car just to give them some balance 😂
I really fucking hope this place survives.

Honestly, it’s seems rock solid. Quite pleased with myself.
I’ve pressed on it as hard as I could with my thumbs and it didn’t budge. I put a bolt in and used a hex key to put a bit of leverage on and it didn’t snap off…
Not my neatest work but cheaper than a new fork or paying some specialist who would have probably done the same thing! -

A follow up about the broken mudguard eyelet on The Time Machine incase anyone’s been on the edge of their seat.
I removed all the paint from the eyelet and scored up the inner surface with a file and sanded down the fork leg, roughed it up with a file then wiped it down with IPA.
Mixed up the JB Weld and painted it on with one of my daughter’s fine paint brushes. A clean one of course.
I found this all incredibly exciting to be honest.
It’s being held on with a large zip tie for 24 hours then we’ll see how long it lasts.JB Weld says it has a strength of 5000 psi but no idea if that’s shear strength?
If it’s strong enough to withstand knocks from toe overlap then I’ll be happy. -

What’s the best way to reattach this mudguard eyelet?
Would JB Weld be the best bet? It’s the forum famous Time Machine bike. I think it had some carbon specialist bond the eyelets on somehow. I’m going to go back through the build thread to see how it was done, maybe @Dammit can shed some light on it?
I tried superglue, but as I expected it just snapped off again when I stress tested it.
Any help much appreciated

I've just fitted a Brand X xl dropper post, its brand new. I know that a bit of side to side play is normal but this one has a bit of fore and aft play too.
I've had a few dropper over the years, always had a bit of side to side play but never fore and aft. Is this normal on the brand-x droppers?
I've tried google but all the results are people asking about side to side play. -

@gp700 Any of this any use to you?
The Zipp extensions are carbon and brand new, never been used.42cm 3t aura pro bars
I have brand new tektro levers and micro shift tt shifters too.
Could do a deal on the whole lot

Pretty devastated to hear this news. I’m not an especially active member but I’ve been lurking on lfgss virtually every day since about 2007.
I fucking hate the internet, practically every other hobby forum I’ve found is always full of dickheads. This is the only place on the internet that isn’t ruined. It is genuinely unique. I’d miss it massively.
But I don’t think any of us should be admitting defeat too soon. I find it hard to believe that this community won’t be able to find an effective solution, there’s just no way we can simply let it die.
I am always staggered by the fact that @Velocio has kept up this place ad free never monetized. Word can’t express my gratitude to you.
This isn’t good bye, lfgss will live on :)
