So you don't have first hand experience and this is just your opinion again? What I am trying to say is that you don't trust it on the basis it's carbon and therefore not strong enough, without any evidence to support that. Zzzzzz
lol, i have a 7kg full carbon road bike, i like carbon, i just dont like carbon rims on the rear of street fixed gears, i think its just asking for trouble
edit. i dont have first hand exp with carbon rims on the rear of fixed gears as i have better things to spend my money on like every other part of the bike. my number one choice is a ceramic open pro, bullet proof tried &tested and understated

I wasn't basing it on 'looking the same' and never once said that
someone in this exchange implied it did, im not keeping track of names. but do people not think that when someone phones the 'Chinese carbon rim factory' they cant say 'hey i want 200 rims but oh btw could you make them a bit stronger please due to there purpose and target market''? and to clarify i am NOT standing up for BLB wheels or defending them. if someone can be bothered they can look up the weight of the blb rims and the ebay ones and see if the blb ones are substantially heavier or not as that would imply if they are buillt differently. i may just be typing away and lost the original point, im sorry if i have

There is nothing wrong with carbon rear rims, do you have any first hand experience? If you are whip skidding them into a pot hole you might be in trouble, however the usual street riding won't do them any harm. It would be down to the individual as to how harsh they are on their wheels as to whether it wold be a good idea or not. Even dropping them off curbs shouldn't do them any harm, they advise against it for obvious reasons though.
EDIT: as a reference do you remember the Martyn Ashton video, he was really abusing those carbon wheels.
ZzzzZZZzzzzzzz......thats why i said they would be ok in a country that has lovely smooth roads not like uk,the roads where im from are like the surface of the moon.
if i was riding to a coffee shop to browse on my mac or to buy a new outfit like you would prob be doing with your 'normal' riding prob with a brake they would be fine BUT if your riding it like you stole it with regular whip skids and skips which is my normal riding then it wouldnt inspire confidence which when i build a bike is what its all about, i like parts i can 100% rely on. i would much rather my rear wheel bent or came out of true then it folding on itself.i like carbon wheels but they stay on the front of my fixed or on my road bike.
and Martyn Ashton was using a wheelset that isnt a full carbon clincher, its a alu rim with a carbon fairing like some 'carbon clinchers' i.e mavic or planet-X or some older zipps.

I'm not saying that BLB rims are shit or carbon rims. Was just saying the rims marketed as the notorious 90s are the same ones you can get for much less money. This makes BLB charging the price they do for them pretty outrageous in all honesty
i think you are correct but just basing it on 'they look the same' isnt good enough with carbon parts

you have no idea.
seriously, please stop spreading false and idiotic statements because people may believe you and go for something 250 quid more at blb despite it being completely the same.
plus, if your authority is a guy from blb, you also need to rtfm and do it quite badly mate.wo wo wo... dont get me wrong its all shit either way, i was just quoting the speele,i wasnt supporting those silly BLB rims i was just making a point about carbon, if you see my earlier post i think carbon rims on the rear is a BAD idea no matter who made them or what they say, i think you need to read my previouse post properly, maybe put your glasses on perhaps.....

Carbonz yes, black chainset no... Black 75s look shit in no time especially with straps...
Well, I've got some carbon clinchers that I have on my nice bike, they've held up to 16 stone of northerner skidding about on them so far... I rode them carefullybat first, they seem very stiff. Mine are 36h though I think, a lot of spokes but makes sense to me.
picture??? :)

If I want a shitty carbon rim I'd order it direct from china and save £250.
the BLB ones are meant to be tougher then china rims that are meant for normal road use, but then again i have seen people use china rims for fixed steet use, i think it depend if you live somewhere that has nice roads or not (so not england). i still wouldnt own one on my bikes, and there HEAVY, 'guns for show, knives for a pro'
