Has anyone seen a better deal than the specialized Stumpjumper evo alloy (on leisure lake), if I’m looking for a bigger travel end of a trail bike new bike for around £2.5k mark?
Ideally 150mm ish front travel 29er and slightly more trail than enduro. I can’t see a comparable deal on a nukeproof reactor or a canyon spectral for comparison.

This seems wise - is there a straight post mount shimano 11 speed compatible brake though? That’s why I thought I needed SLX or similar from googling.
But I guess like these?

I’ve somehow ended up in a disc brake compatibility fever dream, and wanted to see how others would approach…
I’ve:
- an IS mount older CdF I want to build up for touring
- a post mount Ritchey Swiss Cross with older sram rival group/brakes that I want to rebuild with shimano
- a complete Ultegra group with BR-R8070 brakes (and bh-90 hose)
I think my best bet is:
- put the BR-R8070 on the Ritchey with some post to flat adaptors (and look out for GRX derailleur and whatever 11 speed levers)
- buy some SLX BR-M7100 on the CdF with IS to post adapter (and work out what I need to make these work with bh90 - hose is long enough already)
Or
By some second hand hope rx4 as they are pretty
Or
Buy a canyon
Am I missing a more sensible option (apart from buy a more modern frame...)?
- an IS mount older CdF I want to build up for touring
-
some frame blemish details - sorry for bad photos - see here for a much better one of this very frame

Strael 2.0 56T with Chris King headset and Hope seatclamp
For sale because most of my road-biking is now touring and most of my weekend riding is now off-road. Its a really great bike and the pdf hype is real
I can drop off in Birmingham + anywhere an hour's drive from Worcester/sort of M5 corridor. Alternatively I’m in London for work regularly - but probably not until the new year now.
I’ve a box but prefer not to post - and like to give preference to active users
Condition:
I’d say 7/10 - some paint rub from bags, paint chipped off top mudguard bosses, fork has been drilled for a dyno light (professionally by previous owner)Price:
£$old and I will throw the S-works stem in! -

Katu-e update - we got one at the sale price and are really happy with it
- I routed all the cables through the rack, but could still do with shortening long term
- put on a 700c pannier rack, fit is fine and also allows a light passenger
- The quill slipped a bit initially, but has been sorted
Feels like a lot of bike for £1600
To do:
- Dropper post
- I routed all the cables through the rack, but could still do with shortening long term

There’s a thread in current projects about one and also another few owners on here if you search comments. All seems pretty positive.
We just bought one as they are reduced on Westbrook cycles - will update you when it turns up.

How big is the bike @amey? I’m semi local and have a van if you need it collecting a storing for a bit. Also on a mainline to Paddington - so repeat of the same problem
