Overall, Finland is somewhat pricey country and sleeping in Hki might be expensive, depending of what you want. Cheapest of course being couch surfing / hostels, but if you want good quality single rooms in the middle of the city, i've liked http://www.omenahotels.com/. As for prices, your basic pizza/kebab/cheap chinese being about 5-10 euros, restaurants can be anywhere from 15-100e, again depends what you like. Cheap beer from 3-6 euros, better / foreign ones more.
If you want to have real "finnish" experience, i'd recommend to take the tram to sörnäinen, you'll find the cheapest pubs and most drunk people there ;)
