thats my route...i see a few fixies in the morning, this morning i saw a guy on a green BLB bike...another guy with a beard who i thought was riding SS as he had two breaks, but then realised he was actually riding fixed...and was doing track stops at all the lights...guess the breaks are there for extra help in emergencies.
What you riding Sammyz? I will DAWS if I see you. Truth be told I will DAWs anyway but will hail you definitely.
Fistful of Brake = Not cool.
Do A Whip Skid = DAWS
Let the other poets/haters make up their own.

Spotted - loads of single speed riders from Islington on my way into work. At the bottom of Rosebury Ave. I stopped to see if there were any Fixed riders but alas no. Just single speeders all staring at me with no brakes.
One guy said there are no brakes, what if you fall. I replied. Brakes don't do anything once you do fall.
Where are the Islington fixed guys in the morn? Rob, Cinelli Mash guy with black aerospace rear, Girl with pink frame and aerospokes. I'm sick of freewheeling, brake snatching single speeders. Speeding up and grabbing brakes. Anyway that's enough of a moan.
DAWS if you see me.

Weird MacBook Air issue here and wondered if any of you uber-geekoids could help. My speakers are working perfectly, so for example I have just listened to and watched a TED video.
However, if I go on Youtube or try and video hosted on Youtube I can't hear a damn thing. What's that all about then?!
Everyone is switching over to HTML5 and no longer using crappy resource hungry flash. So your problem sounds Flash related.
Uninstall flash player then reinstall. make sure you dump the pref files as well in your ~/Library/Preferences/Macromedia

Sprint training over winter = less whip skids more bar work. Pull ups with leg extensions, dips, Bike squats etc. Get big.
Fifties are the goal

Man I wish I could've done last week. Was busy but I'll do some prep to be ready for next year.
Is it just me or the most fun part of the Velodrome is dropping in from the banking right down to the Black line/Sprinters Lane. Just like surfing. Also the Lumps and Bumps exercise is like carving on a wave. Damn I wish I discovered the Velo earlier. But anyway I'm on it and look forward to many rides/falls and fun.

Hills too tempted. DAWS. Good call. I have been resisting skidding out my tyres until I get another aerotrack double fixed rear wheel just for Track.
Funny though now I have to slow down the boring way and single speed riders who blow by me think I am still peddling to move forward as they don't notice the resisting the pedal stroke and think I am racing when I am slowing down now.
LOL. Its funny. There are loads of single speed riders around islington front brake only as well. Boooeeeekk. Pedal pedal coast screech fistful of front brake how uncool.

I know for sure that loads of these bikes are being sold for peanuts to guys sending containers full abroad. There's a container yard off ferry lane with guys who buy bikes no questions asked. All it would take is for the police to pop down there and run a few serial numbers through the system and i'm sure plenty of people would be reunited with their bikes. There's also a scrap yard nearby who do the same, sending them to eastern europe, they even offered me pennies for the nearly new Giant MTB I was riding when I asked about buying some scrap wheels, probably assuming it was stolen and I'd sell it cheap.
There is no winning against these scum, who steal bikes, and those who buy them to send abroad.
EDIT: I'm not in any way implying I have anything against people who export stuff, just the ones who buy bikes without checking if they are nicked, and they almost always are (who sells legit bikes for £10-£15? which is what they offer)
PM me the details and address and I will look into it gladly.

There were about 40 people of varying skill levels and experience doing induction. Everyone was accommodated and made welcome. This guy could barely ride a bike and then he stacked it. No elitism or anything involved, he was a liability to all. Including himself.
agreed. The coaches at Herne Hill were good but I was uncomfortable with him behind me swerving. I'm sure anyone else would feel the same. The coach was telling him to pick it up a little bit to get closer. So I was scared of the riders inabilities. That's all.
Anyway it was still fun regardless. I look forward to doing again? Anyone rides down there from N1 area let me know cause I got lost and it took me nearly 1hr 30min to find it. Google Maps, Apple Maps and tom tom were all rubbish. No lane guidance and turn announcements quite late. So anyone heading down PM me and let's meet up and roll down together.
48/16 DAWS all day
