Not sure if it fits the bill for a student car, but we might be getting rid of a 2007 VW Touran in a month or 2. Got 207k on the clock, but a very detailed service history and passed the last two MOTs with advisorys. Can send more details if needed.
(P.S. I was also keen on the no longer available Honda Jazz!)

I've used it a bit. It does help, you can still feel the cold from under just less draught/draft.
If you haven't sanded already I would look at lifting the boards and adding insulation. Alternatively, you could look at using timber slivers before sanding.
I wish I'd insulated under when I did it now.

We live in the ground floor of a split Victoria terrace (both flats leasehold). Our ceiling lights stopped working a couple days ago and finally got an electrician round to take a look. One of the light fittings in the hallway had a bit of water on it which had caused the circuit to cut out.
There aren't any widespread signs of water damage (no ceiling stains etc). Electrician said its likely from a leaky pipe opposed to a roof leak as there is so little water. I'm tending to agree with him.
Are the next steps just to get a hold of the guy from upstairs (fairly illusive bloke) and get him to open his floors to look? I'm dammed if I am going to start ripping out our ceilings (unless home insurance pays).

Any recommendations of how to scrap a car?
Was due to take it (2007 VW touran, with 207k on the clock) to we buy any car this morning but a flat battery/knackered starter motor means it still sat on the street outside our house.
Is it just a case of ringing a local scrap yard?
