I was speaking to my friend last night.
She was doored about two weeks ago by a taxi driver, she has a hairline fracture on her teeth, pretty bruised up and her bike is a write off because the frame is bent. She has had to have x rays on her teeth to make sure the root doesn’t die and physio for the aches and pains.
The guy has apparently refused to give any details so she is getting a solicitor involved. Fucking taxi drivers.

He has advised against running but told me "cycling should be okay". I doubt he meant "cycling on a brakeless track bike running 48/16 gear ratio should be fine" somehow.

3 months he reckons it should take to heal. Gutted.

Took my bike to Evans once.

I bought my bike from Evans and I got halfway home when the cog slipped because they had only hand tightened the lock ring.

From the MEN comments:

1) get wire bike lock
2) wrap around saddle so it's always available
3) lock bike to immovable object or just lock it around the wheel so it cannot be ridden away, if away from bike for a few minutes

A cab came flying past me when I was cycling to work the other day, clearly speeding and he got far too close to me. I thought at the time I would call up the taxi firm and complain but figured it would go nowhere. I suppose if they can check the drivers speed then it's worth doing in the future.

I'm on 48/16 at the moment but it's punishing me. I'm gonna change it for 48/17 when I get paid.

The road I have to cycle down to get to work is like Beirut so its not really enjoyable at all unless I take the long way round which is what I usually do.

I just tried tightening the lock ring with my hands as much as I could, then I tried to ride it again. It jerked again -.- but my lock ring is still tight after riding?
Is there a special tool to tighten the lock ring ? Or do you guys think it's something else now ?

but if you go in to a bike shop they will probably do it for you for a couple of quid.

Yellow Fuji with drop bars and front and rear brake locked up outside Londis on Hathersage Road, aaaaaand some guy wrapped up like a ninja that almost cut me up on Great Western Street because he didn't feel it was necessary to slow down when pulling out of a junction in to traffic on a busy road.

Yeah this happened to me when I changed my rear cog and didnt tighten up the lock ring enough.

He needs proper storage. A rack or something.

Ive had knee pain on the outside of my right knee (right where my ligament is according to google images)

I spoke to a doctor and his advice was to just rest it, which is great because 3 weeks later and it's no better. I dont think it's cycling related but riding certainly isnt helping.
