three stripe trackie bottoms.
Follow up question: Is it fair or reasonable to assume posh bike + three stripes = nicked?
Every time I see someone pushing a dale with SLs down the road wearing matching fila I consider taking a photo but then I think maybe that's just what the cool kids look like these days.

I'm always getting the name of it wrong but it looks like the knock off magnum that many places sell. There's no way it will count as a decent primary lock for this thread, and it won't even come close to the security of the fagh mini, but if you go and look at it you can decide for yourself whether the thickness of the steel corresponds enough to the likely risk. At that price I'm guessing the shackle is 12-14mm thick.

So I'm going to E&C to watch the game tonight, my transportation options are:
- Get mugged on the 176 back to penge
- Get my bicycle stolen while riding back (but can be safely ensconced in a house during)
- Get my new, shitty chinese, motorbike stolen while parked (but faster and bigger for actual moving)
Hmmmm. What do.

Re: This ^
Insurance paid out.
Had bike checked again at another shop, found no damage to frame at all (the mechanic was probably covering his arse)
Police just called, she failed to respond to a Driver Awareness course request so now she is being summoned to court for driving without due care.Nice to hear a just resolution for one (obvs shame it had to happen in the first place)

I now have a crime report and received advice from the police regarding my stolen Brooks saddle. I toild the officer that I will go to Brick Lane on Sunday morning to look for it.
Here is the reply:
I am really sorry for your loss it is a huge problem in London right now.
I was about to say exactly what you have already said go to Brick lane and look on the stalls to the rear of the market.
If you do spot it please call the police straight away and do not try and recover it yourself as there are a number of gangs operating in the market.
We are working on Sunday but are deployed on the London to Brighton ride.
It's also worth keeping an eye on Gumtree as well
Sorry I cannot really advise anything further at this timeI love the way they know the exact location of the stolen saddles and thieving gangs but yet, if you don't have tangible proof (ie a serial number or your name engraved on it) that a saddle is yours, the seller can have as many Brooks saddles as he wants without fearing an arrest.
The case is, unfortunately, closed.
I had a brick lane wheel retrieval episode where I did as told and called the police, first they said one hour, an hour later I'd been "downgraded", but in the end the vendor just gave it back no fuss.
So.. it could be worth just asking. But take friends. Big ones.

Oh - if you're asking for a refund you won't get to keep it (unless the seller expressly says they don't care for it back) - normally you return the goods, the idea is it's going back to how it was before you bought it i.e. you have money and he has ?bike?bendy bit of metal
It's a bit confusing but as I understand it while legally you could insist on the seller paying for return post/collecting, it's often the case that paypal makes you pay without any real mechanism for redress, so be ready for that.
Good luck!

Look in your paypal account and see if there is an address there (it may well default to your card billing address or some such). We can't tell you if you have or haven't!
But certainly paypal provides an address to a seller and it's different to whatever you select in ebay checkout. I totally sympathise with them insisting on it given some unscrupulous buyers...

Re the serotta, do be careful - the advice is always not to ride crash damaged frames unless you're sure they are safe - which isn't the same as them seeming safe. That's a fairly severe buckle and as mentioned tends to come from a head-on collision.
I find it dubious the seller wouldn't know if it were there before the sale, and if it did happen in transit (although you say it was well-packaged) then it's also the sellers job to ensure safe delivery, so I think this is one of the occasions to be quite harsh and demand full refund or cost of repairs at least.

Hmm. Well I'm not aware of any report here on its characteristics and there's no statement on shackle material/diameter on the Clas Ohlson site... and it's inexplicably under 18/19mm? Surely that's not true.
It looks no different to the oxford magnum clones/copies/rebadge. The real thing is 16mm which if true here makes it a decent lock. But wouldn't buy without looking.
