Nasty moment today but reading what happened to lynchman makes this seem very very minor. All the best to lynchman and very very sorry to hear that a fellow cyclist is in a bad state. Riding at a high pace past the old vic in waterloo, green light so didnt slow down at all going through the crossing. a black merc waiting to turn right facing towards me was slowly edging out and I thought 'surely he's not going to turn,' anyway, he did and I got a away lightly by unclipping slamming arm and front wheel on boot and then skidding across the crossing still upright gradually wearing down my cleats till I got to the kerb.
Looked behind and driver had gone, couple if people checked if I was ok, which was kind.Lessons: keep your wits about you, if I hadn't seen him or suspected he was coming out and in turn slowed down as much as I could when he did, I'd be picking bits of his passenger door window out of myself and would have written off the front end of my bike.
And don't ride through central London fast.

How would this be for an everday street setup as well as long rides in the weekend?
All brakelessAs well as this ive noticed a lot of other people suggesting 'mtb' shoes for riding on the road/street. Are they just a little bit sturdyer with more of a sole than road shoes? or am i missing something?
particularly nice looking for cycling shoes i must add.

Ok, as discussed on the vegan thread, let's get a date sorted for pizza in Burgess Park. The date is largely in lulav and xtomorx's hands but how about 12 May (weather permitting)?
This sounds, great, i live about 1 minute from this park so would be in. There is a great pizza restaurant called La Luna just passed my place, about 2 minutes walk away from walworth road entrance to Burgess Park.

Can anyone suggest a track (but also street use) chain for around the £10 mark please? Am using a 19t surly fixed cog, not very worn at all on the street, should I get a surly 15t track cog also (as opposed to any other brand)so that wear and tear is as straight forward over all three parts as possible? (minimal noise etc)
