Hey Martin,
I know someone who works near you in N8, I think around £30-35 + price for spokes, I had the mavic/hope wheels you saw at mine on my blue Giant built there but he has a different wheel builder working for him now. Or there's a Polish guy who works in the Bicycle Maintenance company on Muswell Hill broadway/Fortis green road, he's never built wheels for me but re-tensioned some wheels I have, he's a good mechanic, I think they charge £40 for labour plus price for spokes

Located in Belfast so all things will need posted.
STEM - shortish around 70mm Non threaded 1 1/8 I believe, would like something modern Thompson/FSA
HS Non threaded 1 1/8
BB square taper
Brake set to on bullhorns both caliper and lever
Track chain stronger the better.
Rather long list all, items are preferred in black
I have an FSA 70mm stem 1 1/8", oversized 31.8mm clamp area, black with silver front plate or a Tioga 60mm in black with silver front plate for 1 1/8" and 25.4mm clamp area bars
FSA 1 1/8" HS fitted then removed after about 100 miles only (black, non-integrated type)
I have some BBs, 122mm Miche Team, 107mm Raceface Taperlock Ti & 103mm unbranded
I've got a couple of cheap KMC chains, not used much, I'll chuck one in if you buy a couple of bits.
I have some Miche performance & Shimano RSX calipers in silver but selling as pairs (ie front & rear), no levers
Only wheel I have is a old front mavic cosic in blue, vgc would sell it cheap as I have no use for it.
Let me know by PM if anythings of interest and I can send pics. I can post to Belfast, not sure what it costs but I can weigh stuff and find out.

What other hope hubs do you have? I just like them :)
Yeah I just like them too, I have pictured below (from what I'm told) a front 'suspension' hub, an mtb hub and an early 'glide' 130mm OLN. They're both 32 hole, the front has never been built up and the rear is in very good nick. I was going to have them built up for a road bike but went with some modern Novatech hubs instead. If you're interested in buying them PM me as they're probably not going to be used now and they really deserve to be.

As above, just needs to take an HG cassette, I'm not too bothered about what make or condition as it's going on my daily hack which gets locked in Tottenham all day but would like something that functions reasonably ie. bearings ok and with some brake surface. Even a cheapo hybrid wheel would do.
I'm looking to spend as little as poss so collection around North/Central London would be ideal. Probably got stuff here to swap if any interest.
Anyone? -

I am going to use 46/34 and give that a go....the 46 is a Shimano CX ring and the 34 is already shimano.
Adam T.....why won't you use it on the road.......87'' is more than enough for me......so my smallest sprocket will be 14T
Just personal preference I guess, I've used a 53t big ring for years with either 12-23 or 12-25 so even trying a 50t ring felt a bit strange, hence the swap to 52t. I found myself in the 50t all the time searching for the right sprocket at the back on hills. I've never really thought about gear inches I just know what feels right for the riding I do.
53/39 + 12-25 just feels like a great all round combination, I decided to try 50/34 + 11-25 this summer as I went to a part of wales with a lot of climbs but I didn't really get the hang of it.
If you change your mind and go for a 48t I've got a nice surly chainring I'd sell if it's any use.

I bought this just before xmas but have bailed out on the project. I have added a link to the original ebay listing but I can post my own photos if required. I'm looking to recoup my outlay of £64 for the frame and the £17 the postage cost! so £80ono
I have a blue on one seatpost and fizik mtb saddle which I will include for a few extra £ if needed. Viewing/collection welcome from N10 or can post at cost.

I recently bought this hub from an ebay seller without noticing the freewheel thread is on the non drive side! I can only assume the owner reversed the axle for some reason (possibly to use with a single speed freewheel?). Anyway I haven't a clue how to dis-assemble the hub to set it right, any advice or info welcome please.
As it goes the project it was intended for has been ditched so I would sell the hub for what I paid if any interest, its a 24hole. I have a 32hole version of the same hubs built into CXP33s with Sapim race spokes and they are great hubs. I have one or two other old hope hubs I'd part with too if any interest.

you can get 36/52 which is a good ratio
I was riding 50/34 this summer but found I never used the 34, have now swapped to 52/36 which seems more useful, I would make sure you have a 11t at the back though.
I use a 48 on my hack bike as there's never time to get up to any speed between lights in London but I wouldn't recommend it for open roads, IMO.
As for aftermarket chainrings I always use TA and recommend them.

Hi Apollo, I wasn't aware of the charity build and don't know what LCEF is but I'll trust you it's a worthy cause (sorry if I missed something but might be worth putting up a thread about LCEF). Yeah you can have the wheel if you collect it, (unless I discover LCEF is an extreme right militant group or something). Can I have a gold star by my name in exchange for the wheel? ;-)
As it's probably obvious I just having a clear out of odd stuff so if you need anything else for the build let me know as I've got a spare room full of bikes and bits.
OK, regarding freecycle stuff, I think it's best to dibs them so people know where they stand.
Apollo, you're welcome to those bits except the:
Schwalbe blizzards
Bar end plugs (already PM'd by C4shr)
