Does anyone have a 'first principles' guide to mastering their mixes? Mine tend to come out nastily over-compressed with the occasional bit of distortion. Example of what I'm talking about:
https://www.mixcloud.com/owlz84/summers-gone/I think it's because I'm guessing at what combination of compression, limiting and normalisation to apply and to what degree. I use audacity but I guess there are tools that are more designed for this task?

Not sure what to do about the action. I've never taken a neck off but am up for trying.
If the neck is bolt-on then it should be easy enough. Find some of those wedge-shaped shims (stewmac?) to fix that action. I guess you'll need to buy the blank ones and drill your own holes in them since your guitar probably doesn't have one of the common patterns/spacings. No big deal though.
But the bridge also seems like a few mm could be taken off the bottom of the top part.
I'd be more careful with that, changing the break angle can really mess tuning stability up.

Do any of you folks have a better way of extracting stems than the (terrible sounding) rekordbox functions?
I tried this gaudio studio tool (https://studio.gaudiolab.io/) and the results are better but it charges by the minute of music.
Any other suggestions?

Thanks for your tireless efforts @Velocio.
And hey, if you're now working on migrating the front end anyway, that gives you the perfect opportunity to bring back rep 😆

If you want a data point to decide if that's feasible, the 'just finish' ultra distance plans on the marathon handbook site are ~6 months. You'd be starting partway through (given you've been running half marathon distance) but overall I think you'd be risking injury if you're having to steepen the distance curve and drop the easy weeks etc. in order to compress the schedule into <4 months.

I also have a high max (~213), so that aspect of your data is not unbelievable. It's also possible to run at 90-95% of max for >10km but, as others say, you'd know about it.
I have seen the same odd patterns for HR profiles from wrist-based HR and chest straps. I have a suspicion (though I obviously can't prove it) that some devices employ error correction techniques that simply rely on spotting extreme values. If you're in hummingbird club then you might sometimes get these strange traces as a result.

Am I missing something? The article stops short of explaining what the objection of the protestors is / what impact they think it'll have. Not like they're planning on building ALMA up there.
