First FTP done, some way from willy waving, 271w and 3.93 w/KG

The rubber glove video from sufferfest made it all a breeze. Although I skipped the cool down section for lie on the floor in a heap.

It doesn't feel like a great time to buy (it maybe never is) so I'm happy to be getting a NOS Powertap Elite+ at 40% cheaper than going Stages.

Maybe late next year 4iii will be worth considering and even cheaper.

It stands up well in the dc rainmaker review but I don't think it'll arrive on time and being v1.0 it's a bit of a gamble. I'd say it's a long way from the reaching the UK too.

Switched the hub for a 32h version and have an Archetype in the post.

40 miles of city streets down and the bike is ace, like my old Trek T1 but smoother and better handling.

However using a new chain on a used cog/chainset was a massive rookie error, its not noisy but its not silent either.

As for the bar tape, the looks are marmite but it is sublime to use.

Be warned, if use a full bottle it is liable to try and escape on rough road! I'm trying to source a smaller <500mm bottle. The seat doesn't help, can't fit it at a more vertical angle.

The SKS is also worth a punt for much less money, can be easily mounted on the bars too.

Why blb hubs over something more reputable and similar price like Goldtec?

Had a punt, they looked suitable for winter abuse with shielded bearings, done 5.6k miles on them with the rear bearings beginning to show signs of abuse.

Not a fan of the allen key system, prefer a wrench.
