Colour Bolt track frame with Ratty Black textured paint finish and carbon front fork
51/52cm frame fitted with Sturmey Archer S2C Black 2 Speed Kick Shift Coaster Brake Rear Hub.
Gear 1 100% (direct drive)
Gear 2 138% (Gear 1 +38%) meaning you get the look of a single speed but the added gear. This is a track frame so you don’t have a cabled rear brake. But the coaster brake gives you that security.
They also have the original rear wheel that will go with the bike, so you have the option to ride this on track/as a fixed gear bike.
46/21 current set up but the fixed rear wheel gives 46/16.

We used Rogers Removals (East Finchley). We moved NW London to NW London and also had them do everything.
Definitely recommend the packing service - it's amazing how quickly they do it. Let them in at 9am, pop out until ~3pm and it's all packed up. Then the next day - moving day - pop out until you get the keys and meet them at the new place to let them in. Pop to the pub while they move all the boxes into the new place.
Worth every penny (price comparable with those already quoted).

In terms of builder knowledge, now you know a little more from here, whoever comes to look at the job don't feed them anything and see what they say / make a judgment.
That's what we did when choosing a builder to refurbish this place - I know little bits (not a building expert) and some guys I just showed around and outlined expectations and they just nodded. Others challenged and said things like "well, we can't do that because X, how about Y? That would solve it and also provide Z"
You'll know if they know their stuff. Or not.

and the other side of the door is a solid brick wall
Structural, you reckon? What I'm getting at is that the RSJ is probably simply supported on these walls... and it's a heck of an RSJ. Maybe put there when the room was knocked through in the past.
I'm pretty sure the single skin of bricks underneath it is doing nothing.

Suggestions for hanging spare wheels welcome. We have the bikes hanging like this and I’d like to store a spare set of wheels - on a hook of some kind? - either to the right or left (preferably left, to be honest).
I had school style coat pegs in our last place, but a) they reminded me of school; and b) the wheels stood too proud from the wall, on a slight angle.

Our neighbours were largely fine while we were having extensive work done, and weren't around to speak with directly. Did have a polite note through the door towards the end of the works - which I noticed one day when popping in to speak to the builder - complaining about out-of-hours (weekend) working.
I mentioned to my builder and, as I thought (and had agreed), he had guys in decorating. As in painting and maybe some sanding here and there. There won't have been any noise!
They haven't cost us any money by complaining, but it's coloured the relationship for me - ended up drinking the bottle of red we'd bought them for Christmas, for example...

I'm told that's how much it's worth. It's not mine, and not the kind of bike I'm into.
Don't worry, you don't have to get involved.
