On your second gripe ... yeah, fair comment. I stop at all reds, lots don't, I know it annoys other road users and peds. It annoys me that all cyclists get tared with the same brush - but hey, what can you do?
On the first gripe .. with respect ... piss off. I will NOT ride way over to the left so that everyone can pass me. I will however ride as far to the left as I (I as in ME) deem it safe for ME. Roads are full of pot holes, raised man-holes and all manner of shit and often riding in the middle of a bus lane is the only safe place. To tes this I suggest you head down any bus lane (or any road for that matter) on your scooter as you think cyclists should ride, and tell me you feel safe (if you even stay on your bike). So I hear what you say, but I will ride where I feel safest. If you want to vertake me, then feel free, but I will NOT put my life at risk by riding in the gutter.
Rant over :)

It's only closed between London Bridge Road and Bermondsey Street going West - You'll be fine going East.
You'll be wanting to go down Tanner St, Druid St, Crucifix Lane and then up Bermondsey St on your way West.
Cheers TW2.
Went over Tower Bridge this morning then across to Monument. Pedo's are suicidal down that way stepping into the traffic. Took a couple out - that should teach them a lesson ;)

Chappy in cargo shorts on a fixie that I picked up on Lewisham road to Catford. Stayed with him along Bromley road to Homebase where we both turned right and headed up Beckenham Hill. 50 yards in he left me gasping as I tried to get my old legs up the hill! By the time I got to the top he was probably already in West Wickham :) Nice spinning up the hill there sir.

Yep, was planning to start commuting on it. I see quite a few fixie/SS riders going into town from the SE so figured it should be fine ... just need to remember to avoid the hill next to Dulwich college ... not sure I'd make it without dropping down the gears!
I've been checking out the classifieds, so if something crops up suitable then I might just go for it.

Been reading for a bit, but not posted much yet. Commute on a hybrid (Beckenham to City) but looking to get a fixie too.
Been to local bike shops in Becks/Bromley but they keep saying there is no demand for fixies in the area as it's too hilly!?! Anyway, 'hills' or not, I'm in the market for a bike but not sure yet if I should get a spanking shiny new one like a Charge or go the e-bay route. Hmmm, decisions.
Love the forum; great info for a wanna-be fixie :)

I went for a colour the exact same as the Charge Plug green. I even had the same stickers added too, for authenticity ;)
