On this image it seems like they are the same, but on other places on the net people write the r785 is 5-10mm longer to the upturned hood.

Yes, and they are actually (nearly) silent at speed , the freehub disengages.

It can be a bit weird when the hub engages/disengages when you go over bumps in the road, but even with the racket on, the sound is not very loud. The sound in this video is exaggerated

Im looking at making a diy lockring for a singlespeed hub. BMX M25x1.5 threaded topcaps are easy to find.

How bad is it going to be cutting M25x1.5 thread in a 24mm hole (Normally the hole should be 23.5mm, so 0.5mm off).

Will it still work? or will the fit be too loose?
