Reader's. This is a really fun bike. Notice the unused disc on the front. This bike will be getting disc brakes front and rear soon. And though the rim is anodized it is safe for the rim brake, so fear-not for my safety.

Vassago Fisticuff. The new version will be single speedable like the old one but now disc only.

Fenders and a front rack are coming just for the function of it. After my first few rides, I really like this frameset. Should make a great commuter and fun bike.

I had good experience with the Ergon cork in all weather. Comfortable. The cork rubber isn't as durable as normal rubber as far as tear resistance if crashed or otherwise traumatized.

Soma doublecross

Thought of this. Concern for is that the stays are tubular, not solid which might result in folding at that great a bend. Could be an unfounded concern. It would be nice to mount this more than just my pugsley.

I'd like to know if the new racks will have hardware for mounting to a fork with just a hole in the crown

A friend/coworker used the Alpineduro shoe through an extra harsh winter here seeing 112+ inches of snow and months of temps below freezing. He recommends them, and says that they are incredibly warm. Too warm for moderately cold days.

I've been using these for some time, which I imagine are similar. Shimano SH-MT44

They are great for commuting, light MTB, etc. Not an ultra-stiff race shoe feel. Certainly softish. Especially after walking in them a bit and getting back on the pedals you can feel the flex a bit more.

It is a really big bike. It fits well enough, but it has a really stiff and dead feeling as it is meant for loaded touring. Frame is likely going to be swapped for a Soma Double Cross as soon as I sell some unused bike bits. Will make for a livelier ride.

Had Rival shifters moving an X7 derailleur. Swapped it out for simpler downtube friction shifting and Deore. Bike is getting closer to how I want it to feel.

Looks perfect for SSCX trail riding. Puts the drops in a good spot for off-road control.

I like the look. Reminiscent of old balloon tire cruisers. Perhaps not for all, but I like them.

The best looking mountainbikes are single speed, use rim brakes, have no disc mounts or derailer hangers, and have simple track ends.
