http://www.flickr.com/photos/84228348@N03/sets/72157641456165224/
I found another Salieri on flickr and a frame set in an italian forum, but no additional information on the brand. What das lfgss know about it?

Yes, exactly what I was told, custom paint job from a small Belgian team.
I bought it from Belgium of marktplaats, but couldn't verify all the information from the seller. I had a really nice conversation with him, but in the end he couldn't ask his colleague who rode the bike in races and then it dried up.
The seller's name was Friedrich Hogerheyde, he refered to himself as Frits. I found an ex-pro rider with a similar name, but the spelling is different
http://www.dewielersite.net/db2/wielersite/coureurfiche.php?coureurid=9178He told me he sells it from his collection, he even send me a picture of him riding on an old Mercier in the early 70s and some newspaper articles when he won a criterium near the city here in Germany where I live. Kinda crazy, I still have the e-mails.
So it could be a true story with the paint job? Funny that you called it, I always doubted that.

Hey guys, I got this Gazelle frame lying around a while now. I am looking for some additional information on it, it needs to find a new owner soon, right now it's just occupying space. If you know someone who could be interested in this kind of frame, it would be cool, if you could forward this.
There are no decals, but I think it's made of R653. It has these huge Silva dropouts which I only found on other 653 Gazelle frames. Is it possible to verify the tube set this way?
Serial starts with 102, so I guess it is from 91? It's got 130mm rear spacing and was equipped with DA7402.

I recently bought this Gazelle from a Dutch seller and was hoping to get some additional info on the frame.
Turned out the seller is Frits Hoogerheide, who rode with Rinus Wagtmans for Willem II
http://www.dewielersite.net/db2/wielersite/coureurfiche.php?coureurid=9178Now this frame has some edges, he said he asked Rini about the frame and he tolded him, that is was custom made. It has this huge outside lugged rear dropouts, which I only found on 731 OS frames, but the rest of it looks more like AA Special built.

Farme waarschijnlijk columbus buis
Any additional info would help! Thx!

Anybody got infos on Mercier? I got this frame for a while now laying around, still searching for info on the year, parts and decals to fit.
It has Campagnolo drop-outs, so a bit unusual for a french bike, and no eyelets. bad paint job, so I think it was repainted. Another strange thing are the cable housings on the right downside of the top tube, haven't seen this on any other Mercier before.

http://fotos.rennrad-news.de/s/12810I will build it up with Shimano 600 Arabesque as the back brake will fit best this way. The whole set weights ~2900g, so I think it is made of Reynolds 531 or some kind of Columbus steel but the diametre is 26.4mm or .6mm, so probably no 531 or SL.

That would have been perfect, if it was black.
