small tip! I also have that VO Porteur bar and I'd recommend wrapping the bartape from the end to the middle! Otherwise it feels uncomfy when it's wrapped from middle to the end!
I still have mine the "wrong" direction but when they come off I'll do it like that!During the driving you'll notice you slip forward and therefore against the wrapping direction!
just my 2 cents -

So you need a 6-speed (or narrow 7) screw-on multiple freewheel and some kind (pretty much any kind) of rear dérailleur with a more or less matching lever. I'd stick to 1×6 for simplicity's sake.
yes but which period correct levers, derailleurs and crank? :)
those miche monolithic are hard to find and the suntour blaze look crap.thanks

what to do with my GFs bike?
previous owner removed original cranks, derailleurs and SSPed it.
Parts that are originally on it:
Miche competition? hubs
Miche headset
Modolo Corsa brakes + levers
Mavic 190 FB rimsI've found the exact same bike in a local bikeshop but with different components on. hard anodized Modolo brakes, Miche Monolithic crankset and Suntour Blaze shifters and derailleurs.
so what components should I put on it to make it multispeed again?
thanks

What do you mean too tight? I can't see any problem you've mentioned, no different to drop handlebar that have an aggressive radius yet still work perfectly.
I've found the solution...you have to screw off the lever from the black body to fit the cable! This way the cable wont have a sharp bend!
Wing nuts might look rad but don't hold nearly as well as actual nuts, never mind a decent QR.
2 part epoxy works wonders, no ned to drill.
DIY chain guard could pretty easily be made from ge-fucked chain ring, bonus of low weight and your choice of cut outs.ok I'll try the epoxy one...
Chain guard or just a guard ring? If the latter, what size ring are you using at the moment? I'm going to have a 45T Alfine guard ring going spare soon. Like this but black. SJSC do similar ones in 42t and 50t sizes for about £20
I'm riding 46T right now...That shimano Alfine is actually quite pretty but with 40 bucks expensive...don't like black either...thanks

hey guys
I need some advise on my Atala Porteur Conversion
all started out 3 years ago like this
I stripped the braze-ons and repainted it with Pantone 362c in my HHSB-time to ride it fixed and singlespeed for a couple of years...I got tired of this shit and decided to build a gentleman porteur...so it looks like this:
things to decide:
- original Wingnuts? Dont want my wheels get taken away but they look pretty rad
- how do I mount the headbadge I found on ebay.it for 10€? shall I drill holes and rivet it inside or just glue it on?
- IMPORTANT: how can I install my brakecables on these Tektro inverse levers without using force and destroy the route because the radius is too tight?
- I've redone the stickers in Illustrator. "Handmade in Italy" slogan still missing, but printing them would cost 35€...any good?
- is there any minimalistic chainguard that you can recommend? riding Shimano 600 Arabesque crankset
pretty tight clearances
thanks for your help...
