Hi all, my first post here even though I always check the forum. My beater got stolen so I built another bike with a mix of budget parts + stuff I had laying around. I'd like to say it's finished — it rides great — but the pedals are just way too close to the road for my liking on a fixed gear. My previous bike was also a conversion but I didn't have that issue, and I suspect there's no easy way around it, is it? I never rode a crank with shorter arms so dunno if that's a good option. I'm tempted to fit a freewheel and a back brake and take out the retainers — or even just get another frame. Any advice appreciated.
yeah, i went to measure it now and compared with the crank of my other bike which is indeed 165. Might change cranks then, I picked this one up on Velorution's closing down sale and was quite happy with the bargain.
