^^ I think I do know what you mean, and I also think that's part of why I like it. Like germanmarc said, it's not the typical bike with the typical parts we all know are expensive. Although admittedly it shouldn't be difficult to build a nice bike with that sort of budget, I still appreciate the individualistic nature of this one.

it's an odd choice for an otherwise unprepossessing build. The gold spoke nipples tip it over in to 'cares too much' anti
Seems strange to call this bike unprepossessing. Compared to the vast majority of bikes posted in here, the choice of components is quite individualistic. I would happily own and ride it.

cough
Anyway... My point was since it's only for commuting short distances, they'll both do basically the same job in about half an hour.
Cough all you want but you're really not proving anything here beside your own biggotry. I actually said "the kind of riding", not "the kind of rides". Not everybody rides his commute the same way. Open your eyes next time you're on one of your epic long distance rides and see the myriad ways people ride using different kinds of bikes.

due to the abnorm ammount of so so bikes been posted, the category of hhsb gets very blurry. sometimes i need to check if i am at hhsb or already surfing in anti..... .
My trick is to see if I'm bored: If I am, I'm in HHSB; if not I'm in anti. At least there's some creativity in the bikes in that thread.
And on the subject of bar end plugs, definitely yes.

Not as nice as I thought it would be.

Any dual pivot caliper:
Avoid old single pivot ones.Got into an uncomfortably vicious altercation the other day whereby I had to use my bike as an offensive weapon. Guy bottled a woman and was swinging the broken shards at a policewoman, so I threw the bike at him.
It survived without a scratch. I love my Bike.
Wow somebody should make some kind of projectile smaller and more convenient to carry around than a bike and then invent something to fire that small projectile accurately at anything you point it at and then equip the British police with it.
Just messing with you, here is fine.
