Hi @finger_jockey Monday night? I was heading off early and wanting to avoid the taxi demo at Bank. Been off the bike for nearly two months due to wrist problems after an off in Nov. Trust all well with you.

Made contact with a ped this morning. I was already slowing because I saw him and feared he might step out (from the pavement to my left). He was looking in the opposite direction away from me. I assumed he was looking at the lorry bearing down on him/us as it overtook a parked vehicle on its side of the road and, even if he were unaware of my presence, he'd wait for the lorry to pass. There would have been enough space for me to carry on and I wouldn't have altered my speed if it weren't for my concerns that this chap might keep walking into the road. I managed to stop as we made contact so we both stayed upright (albeit with my rear wheel in the air). He was profusely apologetic. I suggested he take more care otherwise he'll do himself a serious injury. Not to mention me. He apologised again. I could have probably slowed more and sooner. But that's just between you and me.

I'm sure this will go nowhere but felt compelled to report it anyway. Needlessly aggressive driving from the driver of an empty bus. Seemed particularly to target cyclists. I received a close pass with him coming in way before he was clear of me - had to brake and bang on side of bus. Perhaps they should extend their assessments beyond technical to include character/personality assessments.
Thanks for your further email of 18 July about dangerous driving of a driver on a route number 35. I'm sorry for any distress that a
driver caused you at A23 Brixton road.I’m sorry that the driver was driving aggressively with excessive
speed. I can appreciate how upsetting it must have been for you.Dangerous driving or driving without due care is simply unacceptable.
I’ve passed your comments to Go Ahead, the bus operating company that
runs this route for us. They’ll now investigate your complaint. When a
complaint like this is made, a manager will call the driver in for an
interview. After this, based on the findings, appropriate action will
be taken. I can assure you that all complaints are taken very
seriously and they have taken the action they deem necessary against
the driver. The safety of our customers and road users is our highest priority. We
go to great lengths to train our bus drivers to very high standards. We continue to monitor driving performance, to ensure that high
standards are maintained. Every month we carry out over 600 Driver
Quality Monitoring surveys. This provides us with technical
assessments of their driving skills. Drivers are assessed on
acceleration and braking, as well as the use of mirrors and road
positioning.Once again, I'm very sorry to hear what happened and understand this
must have been upsetting for you. It's really important for us to meet
and exceed our customers' expectations. This means your feedback will
help us improve our services. Thanks again for contacting us. If there's anything else we can assist
you with, please reply to this email and we'll be happy to help.
