Bobbling merrily along the bus lane this morning, City Road approaching Old Street, taxi behind me about to overtake but giving me plenty of room. Chap approaches behind both of us, pedalling furiously, assesses the situation, decides the three foot gap between me and the overtaking cab suits him perfectly and dives blithely in.
Clips me with a bony elbow then shouts at the taxi driver, who has had to brake so hard he locks his wheels to avoid producing a kamikaze-cyclist pancake. I rarely bollock other riders, but had to make an exception for this witless goon, who turns to me for moral support and is surprised to get an assessment of his lunacy instead. He mumbles something unconvincing about not telling him how to ride, to which I respond by informing him of the cycle training schemes widely available in London, even to morons.
Then he got hit by a van after RLJing. That was probably the van's fault too though, right?

I'm really sorry to keep dipping in and out, but I have to be at work early now for a very long day and as I only started there on Monday I don't think they'd be that impressed if I turned up late and having been up half the night. Was genuinely looking forward to this but you'll have to count me out I'm afraid.
Excuses excuses, blah blah, etc. etc.

if it's like this, even slightly, it mean you don't fit on it well.
it's either level, or nose slightly up.
I've tried it, and I know what you're saying makes sense, but I have a medical problem you really don't want to know the details of (and if you did I wouldn't tell you!) that makes it more comfortable to have it like this.
But because you're the arbiter of this build, I'll give it another go and see how it feels.

It tasted like filth, surprisingly. It didn't do the poor little filthbag any harm, though. Neither of us stopped; I'm not insured for bird strikes so I left the scene of the accident.
I'm wearing grass on my head to attract chaffinches and other small birds, which is perhaps what confused this pigeon.

I always chat to cabbies when I stop by them, either to pass the time of day or to join forces and laugh at other road users e.g. a popo wagon who cut both me and a cabbie up to get to McDonald's. We spent a pleasant two minutes hypothetically tearing them to shreds before leaving with a warm sense of camaraderie.
This is probably quite controversial, but I find cabbies to be the best drivers in London most of the time, considering how many miles they do and how many tossers they must deal with every shift.

- Replace stem with a nicer mtb stem (including a clamp that fits the bar size)
- Find a saddle that actually matches the colour scheme (black/orange Charge - fitted)
- Paint the rear rim black
- Take cranks back to raw
- Let Gaston and scoble be the final arbiters of the build
- Tape over the stickers (done messily)
- Colour ALL the orange bits black (except maybe the headset)
- mudguards?
- Get it in the bin
- Just learn to love it.
- Then bin it.

Balls, they've just changed my contract at work. So on the downside, I can't come on the whole ride. On the plus side, I'll be starting work at half sevenish just round the corner from Lock 7, so I could join the ride at Primrose Hill if that's acceptable?

- Sweats
- ian (conker)
- itsbahhumbugbruce
- stompy (I might be able to lead the ride from CS to LB)
- what? ok.

I'm sure the dentists would have something to say about that.
