LFGSS and Microcosm shutting down 16th March 2025 (the day before the Online Safety Act is enforced)
Yes, this seems like somewhat an overreaction. There are parallels with HASAWA here, which the consequences for breaking are up to an unlimited fine and two years in prison... Doesn't mean that every report of dodgy H&S practices results in this outcome. It also doesn't stop accidents but people/organisations that have followed the various guidance/ACOP's don't then get prosecuted.
I think actual legal advice would be the way forward here - I'm struggling to see how legislation could be weaponised by a private citizen without seriously compromising themselves, and a prosecution requires not only dodgy content but a failure to deal with it. I can understand not wanting to be personally liable (who would) for X thousand users content though!

Anyone figured out WTF is going on with mens trouser sizing? I have uniqlo selvedge jeans that fit me decently, claiming to be a 33in waist... Can I fuck find any part of my body that measures 33in!
(Context is trying to order some cheap-ish tuxedo trousers online, as physical menswear departments seem almost non-existent unless you just want pyjamas/sportswear).

The (effective) markup for time/effort/etc is fine but many tradespeople will double dip and do all their procurement during time they're charging out a day rate.
I also suspect a lot of tradespeople have lost sight of just how expensive they are. I don't know what drives the lack of perspective but I hear a lot of chat along the lines of 'I'm cheap at £350 /day', whereas UK average PAYE is less than half that, with none of the 'tax efficiency' available to contractors.

Our L-shape from Magnet was less than half that, with solid wood doors, neff/bosch appliances and a quooker hot tap. No island though and didn't include worktop (recommended by the designer to go elsewhere).
Still ended up approaching the mythical £40k with new floor/ceiling, lighting and outside door though.

Even a little amp through a 4x12 sounds amazing, proper thunks and depth to the sound.
Having said that, I’ve got my eye on a Cornell Plexi 7 which is either 1x12 or 1x10.

More that I looked briefly and it was the next day when I looked again (so missed solving completely).
