From a technical aspect, yes, you're right but from an attitude aspect you're ALL wrong.
I agree with Skydancer. Just take the moral high ground, let her do her thang and enjoy the humorous side to her behaviour. After all she's not harming anybody.
In that case why don't we all follow her example? Except at speed obviously because no-one here is a nodder..

...Or it's because you're drafting someone?
Not sure if serious...
I'll bite.
Seems unlikely that I am freewheeling down famous London's famous slight inclines at a speed where drafting would make a difference... Plus I'm generally braking to stay out of that kind of close zone.naw, heavier tyres make you roll faster down hills.
What's heavy for tyres?

It's the Go Dutch campaign:
http://lcc.org.uk/sign-go-dutch-petition
Essentially LCC is getting people to sign a big petition (by way of your name and post code - email address for more info is optional) in the hope of achieving a big enough number to prove to the Mayoral candidates that as cyclists we need to be listened to, consulted, and made better/improved provisions for.
The strap line is:
Holland is used as an example - IMO, ignore that part and sign up whether you agree with the artist style plans or not as if we can't be seen to work together and have a common goal we will never be taken seriously. The actual chances of Holland being re-created in London is near-zero, however the chances of money being spent on cyclists and things improving are much higher.
The volunteers are attempting to get you to sign up on paper but your online signing will suffice, it's just another form of getting the word out. The Big Ride is a closed road, 'Sky Ride' style event with marshal led feeder rides and it's a bit of a political statement hidden inside a good time riding your bike. If you're into that sort of thing. Even if you're not, if you're free, just come show your face for 30 mins or skip through on your way to somewhere else. It's all about numbers and working together.
Yeah, once I got to work I looked it up, so from that angle it worked. Just not sure about the timing/placement if you're actually wanting people to sign up on the spot... Maybe it's just me always running late haha!

An older gentleman in full-on lurid orange/red lycra campaigning for something (the big ride?) at the bottom of London Fields this morning.
I'm always confused by this approach - taking my bag off to stash a leaflet and/or stop to sign up for something is the last thing I want to do on a commute! Especially at traffic lights with a short sequence. -

Calling out myself:
Got stopped by plod after rolling across a zebra crossing with some peds still on it. Apparently it's dealt with by going to court (not a FPN) and he said it didn't seem worth it did it, don't do it again etc.
Fair enough I suppose but it's annoying when nine times out of ten I do stop when everyone else flies through! -
+1
I think it's the weightiness.
