Cheers for the input guys but to be honest. I've had a MRI and it spotted the problems.
Basically my knees can't handle the strain :( hence tendinitis and the patellar chondromalacia a mixture of bio-mechanics and muscular imbalance.
I was told rest, Physio and that insoles may help which I am waiting for an appointment for. They are gonna cost more than my Melec. My physio told me he can only go so far and unless the biomechanics are sorted with insoles. The consultant was made aware of these issues but didn't really seems to give a shit (general attitude) but maybe the insoles will do the trick.
I do ride with a brake, I'm using pedals and straps. Could maybe switch to clipless SPD SL but I'd like to use my bike for getting about town, but not at the price of my knees.
A bike fitting could help, I'm in Belfast but have been exhausting all the other possibilities. Anyone know of anyone good in Belfast? There is a few floating around from the shops that do the electronic fitting.
then there is This guy

I used the search and could find nothing. I want to hear from people who have had to stop riding Fixed Gear for one reason or another.
It looks like me and Fixed gear is over. Finally got my melec build up, been doing my daily commute of 4 miles with it yesterday and my knees have ballooned up with fluid and a general burning. I could feel it last night I did use some ibuprofen cream to take the edge off. I'm riding a fairly slack gear 48/19
I do have some knee problems Chondromalacia and Patellar tendinitisTendinitis. Have been doing the foam roller work along with stretching and some strengthening exercises. To no avail :(
I've order a wheel build of a s2c to get some enjoyment out of the frame, as I don't see myself being able to ride fixed gear again. Gutted.
I'd be interested if anyone has any similar experiences

Order a new wheels set after installing rim take and last bit of the tyre I noticed this
Dog shit camera phone but you get the idea. Seems that this would give way after the first pot hole.
I'd like a knowledgable opinion.
If it's fubard, whats the easiest way to remove a rim tape loop from the wheel without fucking it.
Cheers
