Due to my bike recently being stolen and me having to find a new method of transport and furthermore having wanted to build my own fixie ever since I drove that of a friend of mine two years ago I wanted to start building my own fixie.
I bought myself a Raleigh Royal frame (pictures attached) for a bargain price through some connections but now am starting to get my doubts.
For one thing due to all the tiny bits I need to buy new the predicted costs are continously rising, secondly I actually don't know if I really want a modified touring/racing bike, thirdly I am starting to notice that I lack the expertise.
Fourthly, here in Germany parts are harder to come by and more expensive. So basically my question is:
What is my Frame worth in case I decide to chicken out and start with an easier project?
Paint not in excellent condition, no fork, and minor dent in upper tube.
Horizontal dropouts. -
Can anyone tell me if there is a reason not to file off this screw preventing me from inserting the bottom bracket?
This is my first Fixed Gear build and I so far only have a frame and bottom bracket, but I am fairly sure that i bought thr right bracket, given that the Frame is a Raleigh Royal and the bracket should be (and is) a BSA.
Thanks again !
