Evening all. Have recently joined the forum so thought I'd say hello. I rode MTB trials for many years and have just got back into bikes after deciding (through boredom at Christmas) to strip down my Dads old Dawes road bike and rebuild as a SS. This was an incredibly satisfying experience and has re-lit my passion for all things bikes.
I live in North London and am planning on cycling as much as possible. I'm hoping it will save me a bit of money as well as keep me in shape! The bike I'm riding is great but was never intended for SS, I am having to use a chain tensioner for example.
I'm going to begin a project of building a new bike from scratch. Can anyone recommend a decent fixie frameset? I've had a look around and this seems alright http://www.fixedgearfrenzy.com/track-bike-parts/track_frames/eighthinch-v3-scrambler-fixie-freestyle-track-frame-4130-raw has anyone had any experience with this brand?
Also this may be a stupid question but it is possible to buy 700c wheels on which I can put a SS freewheel? I'm looking to spend around £450 on the whole build so If anyone has any tips or can recommend any decent parts or places to buy then that would be fantabulous.
Thanks!
James.
Ahh, sorry, replied in haste.
