It's not a crown race, Ed. It's a thin lower bearing race on a Campagnolo Chorus 11 spd UT crank. The rest of the bearing came off, leaving this on :-/

Edit - I've ordered the thin cheap looking one from Chainreaction for £15

It's not really going to be doable due to being too close to carbon.

Just choosing between these two designs.

The first one - icetools looks sturdier but I'm not sure it will fit in the spacing.
Second one looks thinner but reports are it's not very strong.

Does anybody have an icetoolz and can measure it accurately for me? I would really appreciate!

Hmmm 🧐 writing that out helped - and got me wondering if a crown race tool would work??

So I attempted to remove the bearings from this 11 spd Chorus crank - got the Park bearing puller tool out, which I seem to often destroy something with - tonight didn’t disappoint. Under great pressure I managed to remove at fair velocity 90% of the bearing, flinging it all over my flat in pieces (just glad I wasn’t in the way) - so it left one little ring remaining on the base of the axle. The pen points to it. It does have a little lip so I tried to prize out with a) the park tool -but the teeth things don’t quite reach that flat. b) a couple of screwdrivers from either side over some plastic tyre levers. c) hole punch/hammer - can’t get the angle flat enough.

Does anybody have any more ideas?

Maybe another branded bearing puller has flatter teeth - the park ones seem to turn up a bit (pictured).

Shenanigans here tonight anyway 🤦‍♂️

Okay, have been a bit distracted with other things. I updated the fulcrum wheelset with a nice set of stealthy zondas which looked a bit more understated. I then came across a really nice set of Campagnolo Bullets which look a bit wild but may ride stronger supporting my 95kg. May desticker if not too much hassle. Vittoria Zaffiro Pro tyres which aren’t very tan-wall but whatever. Purchased from bikeinn for about £18 each wasn’t bad.

So to finally decide on wheels then cable, tape and chain to finish.

I sourced some half decent parts to complete - pro vibe post, fizik saddle, Deda Superzero bars.

Maybe trying getting quotes from other Ti framebuilders?

If that fails I’ve got a couple carbon rim-brake framesets for sale if of interest

Nice lightly padded versatile vintage jacket used but good condition with loads of life in it. I’m just not wearing it any more.

Quite a baggy large - says large on label but it feel a bit bigger to me.

There’s some wear but nothing that detracts too much.. Also there’s a small white speck on one of the forearms.

Colour is like a medium-faded navy blue. I find it hard to photograph clothes but can get more pics if needed. From non-smoking house.
