wom is a combination of many factors, including rim depth, profile and construction. Zipps sound like a cruise missile even at low speeds, I think this is because they are nicely hollow but have no idea really. It might even be the dimples #marketingbollocks. At 30mph+ they sound phenomenal.

can anyone tell me what the minimum rim depth is to get that awesome carbon wheel sound that you hear when a ridiculously expensive tt machine or pro rider rolls past? is it the resonation of the sound of the road through the hollow carbon rim that does it or something else. either way it sounds amazing!

i just got a selle smp dynamic. the stitching is very loud and far too bling for me. if i unpick the stitching will the saddle fall to bits? thought about boot polish but that will probably come off onto my shorts. any ideas folks?

If you csn afford 400 quid for some wheels might as well chuck an in a bit more and get some dura ace c24s

Just come back from the bike whisperer. omg forgot all you know about bike fitting and go see him. he is simply amazing and after 5 hours of fitting my bike and riding has been transformed. not cheap but so so worth it! Great coffee as well... seriously this guy is the don. dont be put off by the price the only downside is he is so busy i had to wait 2 months to see him! Thanks scherrit a miracle has been performed

meant to post this last week as thats when it happened but forgot so here it is.

just come back from a cracking cycling weekend in belgium. the ultimate destination for hassle free riding mecca!
here is how to do it if you fancy doing something amazing

car to ramsgate to catch the ferry to oostende. (no foot passengers allowed)
61 quid 5 hour journey. cabin available for 20 quid (highly recommended) and nowhere near as bad as you would think
if you catch the 6:30pm ferry you must come back on the 8:30pm ferry on the sunday to take advantage of the cheap price
cheap hotel in oostende friday night as you dont arrive till gone midnight belgium time

amazing canalside roads flat as a pancake, no cars, hardly any people just an absolute pleasure.
any cars at junctions no matter how fast they are going will always stop for passing cyclists.
its actually quite surreal compared to spiteful taxi drivers etc in london.

daily noddergeddon going over blackfriars bridge/farringdon street. im amazed a lot of them even make it to work. they have zero care and consideration for anyone or anything else on the road.

eightball, try the planet-x stuff...the 120gm is perfect for cycling. wicks really well and very comfortable. apart from the smell :) i think this is an intermittent problem though so you may get lucky. you could have 3 of em for the price of one finisterre! the baa baa is ok but the material feels weird and the cut is strange.

so as i said previously bought some planet x merino. ive got a problem though...they stink! like burning hair. fine when worn before a ride, absolutely stinking after a ride. its not a body odour smell the whole thing stinks like burnt hair. anyone else have this problem?

so many idiots ride down that stretch of road. the level of anger from the cyclists is terrible. made me feel ashamed to be a cyclist. not cool when chartreuse jacket wearing commuters scream at girls trying to cross the road.

Seriously, man, just do this. It cost me about £6 for the parts I need from Wickes and it works perfectly well.
I've got enough parts to make another one left over if you want it.
