Promise I'm not a troll and if I can get there after lectures without getting lost/ being too brain damaged by lectures to face people/ being too scared at the prospect of a social life to attend, then can I join? When will everyone be leaving?
I can never do any of the regular drinks meetups, which is sad so I really ought to make the effort for this.
Clara, I promise if you were going to be properly homeless for a bit then there would be a sleeping bag and a very awkward couch in Crouch End worst comes to worst. -
For a while I'd see a guy on a black bike, black messenger bag, long black dreads around Gower Street area on Wednesdays about 5ish and assumed the stealthy looking individual was a messenger as his calves were carved ('hem) and he would track stand and speed away a lot but now I'm wondering if he's anyone on here...?

Hi there, I've got a mint green, decal-less, lugged steel frame with mavic open sport rims and pink anodised hubs; for I am a classy lass. SS neither fixed nor clipped but sport some DHB SPDs.
Would love to go to one of the meetups but unfortunately have class in the evenings and work on Sundays so shall just have to hope to crash one of the randomised ones. -
I'd also like to give a shout to Micycle, they were so friendly, helpful, enthusiastic and inquisitive when I merely popped in for some air.
Another thing to mention is that Two Wheels Good Crouch End is still going strong, though trying to fight against the Evans round the corner. It is very expensive but they do give thorough service and some of the mechanics there are really super friendly. I went in with hubs and rims and begged to be shown how to build wheels and Alec lent me books, gave me double butted spokes for cheap spoke price and was generally really lovely about it. They are mostly a road bike and commuter shop but it's my local and I'm glad of it. The owner who spends his time between that branch and the Stoke Newington one is very helpful though he often seems brusque.
A shop for the 'not in London' section ought to be The Cycle Repair Shop in Cambridge, good service and great service if you go in friendly. Unreliable opening hours but good prices. Very flexible, while he obviously won't just lend all his tools out to strangers if you go in and plead 'my tools are back in London, could you have a look?' he'll often just fix little kinks for free.
Bike Ambulance (Cambridge again) are well known I believe already. They're definitely good for bike bling. -
Thread bump because The Bicycle Repair Shop on Mill Road, Cambridge might be shutting soon as the owner doesn't get enough custom. He is awful with opening hours but if you go in with a smile he will bend over backwards to do favours for you. He is a real fan of regulars and friendly folk, he'll happily spend as long as needs on a custom build or just chat about bikes with the local kids or turn around a job quickly if you're in a hurry and he can manage it.

Has anyone been to Chutneys just up from Euston? There seem to be quite a few veg*n restaurants on Drummond Street. Chutneys do a good Indian buffet.
Can anyone tell me about the Vx cafe/shop on Caledonian road? I'm intrigued every time I pass it but always a bit too wrapped up in the commute to stop. -

'Can you hear static? I can hear static... ' ?
