Bishopsgate, this morning, heading south. Track standing at the lights, clipped in and eager to get around the Bobbin riding, RLJing, headphone wearing guy who's plagued my commute by repeatedly cutting in front of me at lights and then sitting in a position that meant not being able to pass him safely. Lights go green, I accelerate hard and upon the second rotation my right foot comes free. Thought I was going to bail. Thank fuck for my brake. If anyone on here observed it, I'm sure it looked pretty funny.

Is there a better cleat system than Shimano anyone would recommend? I'd be happier if there wasn't a repeat performance of this incident.

Have you tried cleaning up the original cranks? They're beautiful! I'm sure they're not particularly lightweight but it's got to be worth a shot, right? Try the ol' vinegar and aluminium foil trick. Same goes for the stem and headset.

More of a frame box to be honest. You may have trouble getting a whole bike in there.

So for your 35 beans you're getting a lower spoke count and better quality spokes, right? Is it a different rim?

Good times, thanks! I'll be using it on the road primarily but am definitely up for giving the track a go at some point. Clinchers all the way for the moment though.

So, after 3 months on the wrong side of the Atlantic, I'm heading back to London. There'll be a Track Champ frameset waiting for me upon my arrival to take the sting out of returning to real life. I've wanted one for a while for purely aesthetic reasons.

It's the white version with black carbon Alpina straight forks. So I'm thinking of just going for solely black and white components (ok, mostly black if I can help it) so I'm going to start collecting bits and pieces as and when they come up.

I've been pondering picking up a set of wheels from V-Sprint. The price seems reasonable and I've only heard positive feedback. Does anyone have any thoughts on them?

Yeah... I was quoted around $100 for shipping and it was $150 on the plane so I flew and left the bike with a friend to ship. Turns out the quote was erroneous. Now I'm on the opposite coast and bikeless. Think I may have to sell it in BC.
