^^This. And it goes double for using straps which ARE a faff to get in and out of. I'm usually stationary and sat down unless I find myself on an unusually bad road surface.

I've been putting together a single speed conversion for my girlfriend. The idea being that she has something with mudguards to ride at work on (she doesn't like the commute so needs two bikes. Seems like a ploy to get another bike to me). Is there a size of P-clip that will fit most slim, steel stays and forks?

Is 12mm a pretty good best for steel frames? I'm looking online without the bike to hand and figure I'll be able to bend them to fit most slim stays/forks?
