Mudguards, with bodged attachment on the rear (right). Even with the attachment bent so it's flush with the mudguard, it still won't stay rub-free.I think it's the shape of the mudguard, and that if they were curved rather than angular it would be ok.

Pics are crap sorry, only have my phone.
Does anyone have any pictures of the SKS ones from front on?

So I have read through this thread and seen that around 10mm of clearance between brake and tyre should be fine.
Last week I bought some Tortec narrow mudguards off here, but even after playing around with the fitting a bit and trying a couple of bodges, they just won't fit without catching the wheel. It's always fouling near the bolt fastening, it's not about stay length.
The bike (Holdsworth Triath-Elan) has mudguard eyelets and is meant for 700c wheels, so I can't see that mudguards in general won't fit.
Does anyone know if the clearance of Tortec and SKS Chromoplastic mudguards is any different? Even better, does anyone have a pair of SKS not currently fitted, that I could come round and try, rather than buying some on the off chance?
I'd much rather have permanent mudguards than Race Blades or Road Racers

On my latest build I want to put some cloth tape I have over some more comfortable tape. If you've recently changed your tape, or plan to, I will have your old stuff. It's being covered up, so it doesn't really matter how scranny it looks, but I'd want it long enough to cover drops. I'll pick up from you if you're not too far away.

Just out of interest really.
About two and a half years ago, I got it off a friend of my girlfriend's, who got it from a friend from somewhere she used to ride, which may or may not have been Herne Hill. She was going to convert it into a fixed, got as far as taking it to pieces and leaving the pieces on the back yard and scattering hub bearings around, and gave up.
I went round with a bright orange Create that I was sick to the back teeth of and swapped it for the pile of bits.
As may be clear from the fact I owned a Create, I knew fuck all about bikes back then. I'm still learning now. Anyway, I ended up moving to Berlin, taking it with me, and then when it had too many problems I got fed up and sold it at the flea market for €50. As I have since realised, I could have probably got that for the shifters alone. Ah well, you live and learn.
Cool story bro, I know. Anyway, I was just wondering if it was built and given away by anyone on here. It was a nice bike, but considering that I am 188cm tall and never owned SPD shoes until this year (what was I thinking?) it was never right for me.
It was a Raleigh frame, that had at various times been gold, red and finally black. Nice straight forks, Sora (I think) STis, etc.

I have sorted some shifters now but I am interested in the levers. I don't have much good stuff to trade really, everything that hasn't been marked as sold in this thread apart from the skewers, an entire Peugeot Elite bike that you wouldn't want bits off even if I did split it, or some money. Also a pair of Tortec narrow black mudguards that don't quite fit on my new build.
And cheers Plastic Pedals, get in touch if you find anything, I appreciate it.

Holdsworth Triath-Elan.
Still a work in progress, as the STis don't work properly, so I have bought some 600 DT shifters and aero brakes to replace them and match the rest of the group. Also have some 600 aero pedals on the way.
Also intended and very much needed, but not financially viable at the minute, is replacing the mismatched wheels and tyres. A friend has a pair of Alex R500 rims with unbranded hubs that were stock on his Giant bike, and I might swap them as a stopgap as they match and are silver.
Not working aside, I'm delighted with the bike. I thought it would be a step up from my Peugeot Elite, but I didn't realise how much.
