Yeah a bit. We were particular about shades and the cheap brands don't offer a wide range of masonry paints typically, our painter also recommended a more premium brand for any colour other than a very light pastel due to more/better pigments.
We spent forever choosing a shade from Benjamin Moore, including buying sample pots, before realising most of their shades are not recommended for exterior use (even though they will sell these shades in their masonry paints). We went down a slight rabbithole on this because it doesn't say that on their UK site, just their US one, and since the important factor is probably UV, what might be a problem in Arizona is not necessarily a problem in the UK. Nonetheless we didn't want to spend lots of money getting the house done explicitly against manufacturer recommendation.
So yeah could then have been F&B or Little Greene. Painter prefers to use Little Greene of those two, and we have lots of their paint inside and are happy with it, plus they have lots of lovely shades available in masonry paint.
White bits on wood and stone just done in white zinsser and sandtex to save money - same for everything on the back of the house. Albeit zinsser is £££ mind. Meaning we only needed 5 litres of the Little Greene, which after a discount our painter gets at a retailer, is about £70 - so for us, defs worth choosing a premium manufacturer for the pink
We didn't bother going down the route of natural paints, limewashes etc as there's already several coats of acrylic paints on it

Update on exterior paint
Went for Angie by Little Greene. Not quite finished but nearly. Almost copped out and went for something more tasteful but glad we didn't, it's extremely uplifting. Bristol so every other house is colourful anyway.
Next up, door and retaining wall, although I'll do them myself as no ladders involved. Mint green and deep purple respectively?

This is letting your setup down a bit, can you not run it off something a bit more expensive

Always thought these looked interesting

If any of it is rotten, they able to cut sections out/replace with hardwood?
Yeah this is based on an initial scratch and sniff test of the windows showing any rot seemingly minimal, so just a bit of 2 part filler needed.
Caveat was given about possibly discovering worse rot on further investigation, but don't think that's happening - I said yes and the guy is most of the way through prepping the windows

First proper harvest from our plot today, since we took it on earlier this year. (Not counting rhubarb)
Tomatoes extraordinarily good. Just superb. Maybe the best tomatoes I've ever eaten. 750g harvested today and there's probably two or three times that still ripening
Lettuce inedibly bitter. You win some, you lose some
Ate the tomatoes with shop bought basil, burrata and a good evoo instead

Yeah no fucking way I'm going up two storeys on a ladder, even if I could do it to a decent standard, which I probably couldn't. Just wondering how the price compares to other pros.
Timewise, should be finished 1-2 weeks from now depending on weather. Looks like autumn rains here in the south west are beginning to set in, but should be enough dry days left to squeeze it in
Price doesn't include paint - he's gonna get back to us on that after working out exactly how much is needed and after we pick a manufacturer and colour for the front
Talking of which, I'm thinking pastel pink or yellow? Terrace is a mix of some pastel shades, some white and some bare brick. To my eyes the plain white houses look notably cheaper/less nice than the colours

Quote for Victorian terrace exterior painting, front+rear+2 bay windows+3 normal sashes.
Seems reasonable to me? Albeit obviously its a big chunk of money, the windows really need doing before they deteriorate to the point they end up costing much more. Have used the guy for interiors and very happy with quality, reliability, personability.

The austerity stuff is part of a very deliberate attempt to cement in the public mind the view that the Tories have left behind a failed economy
As per Liam Byrne 'there's no money left' circa 2010 which Osborne and Cameron made very good use of
It will be reiterated all through autumn and winter
The multi year spending review in spring will be the start of more spending and hopeful announcements, to give off 'we are turning the country around' vibes
