Thanks, looks like it's going fast standing still! https://rmsothebys.com/en/auctions/mo19/monterey/lots/r0126-1955-austin-healey-100-bn2/789815

I follow and watch quite a bit of this guy on YouTube. He is doing exactly what you describe above, space frame, mid mount etc. Might be worth having a trawl through to see if the work he's doing is within what you think it would take?

Thanks, I did it with a mate in the end, needed a qualifying tradesman to get the grant. Insulated with 75mm solid board and left a 35mm air gap, it's a bit on the shallow side. Hoping it'll be ok. The room feels amazing now. Like walking into a recording studio after being on the street. Other bedroom in two weeks!

Agreed, I need to cut a hole this evening and see what's there. It was done 25 years ago, so I'm presuming it's minor. If we had the space I'd just stick a blanket across the inside and sacrifice the couple of inches, reality is it's tight already.
We stuck blackouts on the windows last year, made a difference. This is stage 2!

I'm redoing my kids room to insulate it properly, room is a nightmare, cold in winter and roasting in the summer. Considering using a mix of solid insulation board for the vertices and then wool on the inclined ceiling. Am I going down the right route and does anyone have experience of best materials?

The Napoleon Pro 22k is a brilliant Weber alternative. Have had one for 5/6 years and it's been a great low and slow cooker and good for feeding a big crew too. Cast iron grill FTW!
