I've been out the past couple of nights, just a short ride and nothing too strenuous. The wind is a killer and deep v rims make it interesting, especially on bends and emerging from behind hedge rows.

Might have a blast out again tonight now the wind has died.

What wheels did you go for?

I've finally got the fixed up and running - just need a few tweaks now.

Main thing I don't have is a brake and not sure how comfortable I am without one.
Some people say don't use one, but I have been stopped by the police before for riding brakeless and would rather just have a front one for those hairy moments.

Frame is now at Droitwich and then it goes to the Stockton depot and hopefully to me. As to when this will happen I don't know, but if it comes early tomorrow I'll get it built up. If not I might just come on the MTB, as I fancy a ride out.

Good to know that there's cycling courses etc in the srea. More people need to be involved, even if it is not fixed.

Facebook is good to catch people on and use the group you started, but keep using the forum. If we don't they'll think we don't use it and get rid! Plus we've had interest on here and it's still going, which is good. There's never going to be as many riders as London etc but it'll be good to get a few more of us.

There's also fixedgearteesside.blogspot.com that I made a while back and Ryan had started to contribute some good stuff to it too.

Yeah, I've ridden around the barrage quite a bit - boro docks should be good, just need to avoid the doggers and tramps.

I've never ridden the cycle track, was meaning to when it opened and never got around to it. It's a shame that Clairville is on the council hitlist for closure to save money. It would be great to ride the velodrome - I'm sure my dad helped resurface it a while back.

Yeah, mixed views with that ratio, but for starting off it's good I think.

I've found a few sprockets cheap and some on here I think, so I'll prob get one of them.

haha, I'm having to run a 48:16 until I order a new back sprocket. I won't be skidding too much.

Could meet up outside the library and then maybe head down towards the tees barrage and come back past the uni? Quite quiet around there and flat.

The only problem with evening rides is the fading light. If the weather is alright, I don't mind sticking the knogs on and riding in the dark. Suppose the roads will be quiet.

My frame is on its way, so will have a bike fully built by this time next week. I'm up for a ride too.

Coat hangers could be useful for prodding that annoying chav in the eye whilst riding past.

It sounds like a good plan. I'm sure sponsorship wouldn't be too hard, just need a bit of persuading.

I'm guessing you guys know some good routes and some scenic routes too - a good mix of urban a rural really works.

I'm used to riding and filming, also taking pictures. I'll hang out of car windows or from the boot. Anything to get a good shot and none of this same old that gets pumped out.

I think with a lot of effort, this could work and work well.

I'm free after 2pm Saturday and free all day Sunday - Ryan who you may have met at COTT will prob come too if he's free.

Will it solely be just riders from Newcastle or could the teesside riders come up? Might not be many!

I also have a 7D and quite a few lenses and would help out if needed?

My wheels have been shipped and frame should hopefully be done this week. If not I'll be bike-less for COTT, but I'll still come.

Good stuff. I'm gonna make some spoke cards, stickers etc just to put about and see if we can get others involved and riding with us.

What size do we want for the cards - 6x4 or 7x5?

Phil has re-worked the logo a bit, simplified it and added the local touch.

What do we think? I really do like it!
