Mark Cavendish lives in Tuscany and hangs out in cafe's on his refurbished Lambretta with his page 3 girlfriend. Can't say I feel too sorry for him labouring over that climb. Which give him his due he was right at the front of the peleton in.

a similar thing happened to Robert Miller in 1985, he was regularly spat on by the crowds. All the Spanish in the teams conspired against him so he lost on the last stage. They were even congratulating him on the hills knowing there was someone ahead who would beat him (Pedro Delgado). The Spanish do not like 'foreigners' winning their tour.
