Pretty pissed off at the moment and i thought i'd share my feelings here, i have no idea why really...
Basically i was just over 20mins late to college because i got a flat and had to walk a couple of miles or so, explained it all to my head of year and he said i'd get an hour detention for being over 20mins late. He told me to go back at lunch time and where he gave me a 3 hour detention on Saturday morning for lying (he phoned my parents who said i'd left at later than i'd told him)
Essentially i was going to be late anyway but a puncture slowed me down more, i only told him i had a puncture, not that i was already late (not really lying, more withholding the truth)
So yeah, i miss the first day of the season at Herne Hill.
Thoughts?

I was wondering how well a dolan track champion frame and alpina carbon fork would cope with being run around a university campus/city in the hands of a complacent student?
I bought the frameset a year ago for HH use mainly, but i don't know whether to sell the whole bike (i'm sure i'll get a good price for it) and fund a more solid build or just convert the track bike... (really i'd like to keep hold of it but i won't have much chance to ride track whilst at uni unfortunately)
any advice/opinions would be appreciated,
cheers,

How many laps of RP has anyone ridden in one go. I have to confess to have never haing done more than six at a sitting. The legendary Warrick Spence is alleged to have ridden 11 straight laps before boredom took over. I am tempted to attempt 15.
This summer a london dynamo did a 24 hour ride for charity, 353.6 miles, 50 laps. Not bad going really...

I suppose part of it is anti-training to make sure people concentrate on exams etc. I understand that, but a half marathon is a bit excessive imo... it would be nice to have something to aim for thats longer than a 10k, which i run most weekends. I appreciate running in an event such as the London 10k just because you're with lots of other people who are all working towards the same thing and its encouraging. In general i think triathlons are more regulated because of the multiple discipline element.

Tell him to do another to put it right. Do it with him. Everyone will be happy.
Its his second of this year, and i think he's decided to do one a year to give him something to aim for, fitness-wise. I would do one, but i'm not allowed to do half marathons let alone ironman's (17yo wannabe alert). Its health and safety gone mad if you ask me, i run, cycle and swim miles each week and yet i'm not allowed to do a 13 mile run...

He finished. That's good.
that's what we were telling him, but when you've trained for two years for the big day, i think it was a bit of a let down. imo, an ironman is probably the ultimate sporting event as far as the training and commitment you have to put in, i've got loads of respect for all ironman atheletes. i hope one day i'll be one of them!
