I think I remember reading that helicopter generally tend to "topped" out at 200mph, the Eurocopter's 250mph doesn't seemed that much of a big deal TBH.
Helicopter airspeeds are limited, mainly, by the velocity of the rotor blades as they travel forward in each rotation. Add that forward velocity to the IAS of the helicopter and it's quite easy for the tips of the blades to go supersonic if you try to go too fast, with the accompanying aerodynamic and blade-falling-to-bits problems that causes. Shaping the tips can help, but basically, it's difficult to make a helicopter go fast.

Ten minute interview with Wes A. At ten to nine on film 4
Just before showing fantastic Mr fox againA whole night of his films, in fact. I just watched Rushmore for the first time in ages, I loved it more than ever. I'm really looking forward to Moonrise Kingdom, a new Wes Anderson film with Bill Murray is something to get excited about.
In the Prometheus 2D/3D debate, ordinarily I go for 2D without thinking about it. But this time... it's Ridley Scott making an Alien film. He's not to make a crass mess of the 3D, is he?

A while ago on here I saw on someone's bike which had either foam or rubber protectors that slid over the gear cable outers to stop them rubbing the paint off the head-tube. They looked to be a couple of inches long, and narrower towards the middle to curve around the head-tube. Anyone have any idea what I'm talking about, and more importantly, where I can find these? Thanks.

I really like this.
If you've put it together for less than £1000 (and I'm sure you have) you're laughing.
Ta, and yes it's coming in below £1K.
If you did want a 120mm stem in white , I've got a nice procraft one here: http://www.lfgss.com/thread83103.html
same as here: http://www.bike24.com/p29034.htmlLooks good, but 120mm is a bit long for my arms. Cheers though!

I got the frame back today from being painted by Ellis Briggs in Bradford, they did an amazing job on it. I went for plain white in the end, a bit boring but the Genesis Croix de Fer in white just did it for me the first time I saw it.
The parts have been arriving thick and fast:
NOS Ultegra 6600 Chainset, BB, derailleurs and shifters;
Used Dura Ace 7800 front calliper, new R650 rear calliper;
Dura Ace 10-speed chain;
FSA Omega Compact bars.Charge Spoon Ti brown leather saddle;
Ultegra seat post.Used Ultegra 6600 wheelset (not that you could tell by looking).
Columbus Tusk forks;
Brooks brown leather bar tape;
Hope silver bar plugs.Here's everything:
Just waiting for a headset now, which is in the post with any luck, and a stem. I was thinking about either a white FSA one to match the bars, or a silver Deda Zero 100. Either way, I'm waiting until the rest is built and I've tried a couple of sizes on it before I pick one.
In reply to Harold above, it's not been cheap (at least not by my standards, I've had to sell a whole bunch of records and other stuff on eBay to fund this), but I've made big savings by buying NOS and used kit.

Again, probably I went to steep with my orginal statement.
What I meant to say was, children has to choose for themselves. It was my understanding that we all like to be a bit like our parents ?! It can be said to junkie parents, alcoholics, violent and so on.So homosexuality is up there with drug abuse, alcoholism and domestic violence then? No.

The problem is that others dont bid that way. If you put in your maximum bid early on, it just allows someone to chip away at it, convincing themselves each time that they're willing to bid 'just another fiver' in order to beat you. Hold fire until the last few seconds and that won't happen.
Edit: Ahem, yes, exactly what CasaSteve just said.

The Konkordski that crashed at the Paris airshow in the video above isn't the same aircraft as the one in the photos on the previous page. The photos show the prototype, with compound curves on the leading edge of the wing from when the Soviets were still trying to copy Concorde outright, but it wasn't stable across the speed range.
The design that crashed in Paris has cranked delta wings with straight edges and canard foreplanes, after they decided to give up trying to copy Concorde and went with a slightly more 'agricultural' solution.
If it can't do shows this year, then it has to be all over for the Vulcan. It exists in a perpetual state of financial crisis, and surely can't survive missing a summer airshow season. Of course if it's just an engine that's gone bang and it can be replaced easily (they do have spares) then it might be ok.
