Funny this... I was in my local London bike shop yesterday and was talking about my plans for my groad bike... plan is to go minimal carbon, mechanical groupset etc... we went over to look at a new Cannondale with 12 speed Sram and he said that it was a really good groupset etc. I said I'd be going for 11 speed as one more gear isn't worth spending another £600... he then said, thing is, if you don't go for the latest and greatest, then you won't be able to get chains etc because they'll become obsolete.

I'm tentatively on the lookout for a few bits to start my all road / groad / whatever winter bike.
Looking for SRAM 11 Speed bits to start (not eTap or anything battery operated). Rear Mech, shifters and maybe calipers. Must be in good nick as I'm buying the frameset new. Force carbon cranks 1x would be good, 42 tooth 172.5mm.
Not in a rush at all!!!!! Although i have just bought a Brooks all weather ;)
Thanks

Defo going 1x just because I live in Essex and it's not that hilly... I thought about Klampers etc but I think Hydro is better... might be tempted by Shimano, but it looks like it's more expensive even 2nd hand than Sram... I'll be getting the majority of parts 2nd hand... frameset, wheels, bars, seatpost etc will all be new. Wheels wise, I'm looking at Hope (brake calipers as well maybe) and Arkane.

I'm in the market for a new frameset and would love to get something british and titanium... how does the Switchpath ride... is the ride different to other materials?
