electric scooters probably aren't any more dangerous than bicycles on the road?
it's the pricks riding unrestricted ones at speed on shared use paths that pose more danger to people IMOI shouldn't think the batteries on the cheap imported ones will have a particularly long lifespan though, so they'll likely end up rotting away in gardens after 6 months.

Can't imagine how terrifying it must be for people new to riding in London.
or indeed on the roads of other not so famous towns and cities!
i was thinking my commute would be super chilled this morning now that all the school run 4x4s are parked up for the easter hols, however it would seem that the thinned out traffic just allowed more high speed close passes. oh well!

what is the definition of nodders? - people who nod at you?
my morning;
go to leave the house, give back tyre a squeeze - soft.
inspect tyre - remove huge thorn.
look at spare bike - tubeless tyre on spare bike has gone flat due to lack of use.
roll eyes + make loud animal groaning noise.
put new tube in original bike.
tyre refuses to seat properly.
get increasingly grumpy and decide that cycling gods are against me today.
get changed out of cycling gear.
cycle to train station on beater.
train delayed due to broken down train.
45 mins late for work.
should have cycled. -

my brooks cambium is making an awful noise recently. I've stripped it down and given it a thorough clean but it's still noisy. irritating.
the stupidest bike fettling mistake I ever made was forgetting to unlock my trp hy/rd disc calipers (there's a small screw you can wind in to lock the piston arm when the wheels are out) after cleaning the bike one weekend. my drive slopes down towards a fairly busy road. not a nice sensation when you're clipped in and grab the brakes and the levers don't move...
luckily there weren't any cars coming past at the time.
i do find it a bit strange that i still seem to see plenty of vehicles that belch out black smoke, especially when the driver puts their foot down.
i'm sure the police have the authority to take a car off the road if it has a visible defect that would make it fail the MOT - they certainly do when it comes to bald tyres, or malfunctioning lights.
possibly it's just if it poses a danger, although you could argue that pollution is causing a danger to health...
maybe it's time for environmental police patrols?

look like you can report busses or lorries, but not any other type of vehicle, to the DVSA
