The Chingford line looks OK for this weekend, at least for the time being, however, Gospel Oak - Barking is closed.
Tube, Overground, TfL Rail & DLR: Status Updates (for November 7th):
LONDON OVERGROUND: Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 November, no service between Gospel Oak and Barking due to Network Rail bridge works. Replacement buses operate.
It's worth keeping an eye on the TFL status updates if you are planning on taking the Overground - so many times I've got to a station only to find replacement buses in operation and had to cycle there/home! Not the end of the world, but a 10 mile slog home after a full day in the forest can be hard work. :)

I think 1.75s are the widest I can fit so hoping they'll be big/knobbly enough.
I'm sure they'll be more grippy than your previous Conti CX race tyres, but as BN writes in the first post:
As far as bikes go, it's ridable on most bikes. As long as you can fit
knobbly tyres of around 32c or more and have working brakes, you're probably
good to go.And getting stuck in the mud is all part of the fun, right?!
I'm super excited for this!

Does anyone make 31.8mm silver ahead stems these days?
I'm looking for something exactly like the Velo Orange one below which I can't find at any UK retailer.
Only other options seem to be Thomson Elite or Ritchey Classic but both are pricey!

@BareNecessities that Trail 3 would be perfect if it was available in a small - I'll have to research some similar offerings, or maybe even take the medium for a test ride.
@Howard what size is your stuff?
@606 you've intrigued me now as I ride a 26" Inbred hard tail - as my first and only MTB I'm very happy with it. I'll need to have a spin on someone else's bike to see what I'm missing. :)
Don't forget - today's the day to catch the free screening of unReal. I just watched it again, great fun. :)
